I would like this to be successful as it brings work to so many people and businesses..

I’m a contractor that works at HVO and this extension will secure my working future

Because we need enough energy and revenue for our country to reinvest in future renewables.

I support the HVO North Continuation Project as the proposal stands for what HVO does. I am confident that HVO will continue providing employment for local Hunter residents, provide support to local communities and to local businesses, and also improve the current road system for access from/to New England Highway and the Golden Highway.

I believe coal mining is vital to the future. I have seen first hand that HVO, and it’s mining practices, bring far more positives to the extended community, from supporting thousands of families and businesses during difficult times, as well as offering training and support to families. HVO is a responsible mine. It looks after the environment providing rehabilitation to its cuts, and it looks after the health and well-being of its employees, and it keeps Australia heading in the right direction

The expansion of HVO will support the local community through continued employment of direct employees, contractors and further. In these uncertain times with recessions looming it is important that large employers such as HVO maintain operations.

This expansion would support my family an friends with local work that this mine site requires to run on a daily basis. It produces so many jobs an also supports our local community.

No changes to the mining areas already approved, great plans, supports community, supports my family.

I support this project.
During the transition to a low carbon future, we require access to cheap, realiable base load power. Currently this power is provided by coal. The coal from the Hunter Valley is high quality, lower emission coal (compared to some of the alternatives). To minimise the impact on the environment, we should be maximising the use of this higher quality coal.

I also support the mining industry, and the wonderful work they do in supporting our communities through donations and support in kind. Several years ago I was involved in a high school tutoring project that encouraged young mining professionals to donate their time to help struggling students catch up on work they had missed at school. This is a wonderful example of the quiet work that happens in the background, that many people do not realise would not be possible without a strong local mining industry.
