Hi, my family and I have been a part of the Meadowbank community since 2019. A big part of why we love living here is having easy access to the wonderful nature and waterside at Meadowbank Park. It is where the community comes to life and where people from all walks of life gather to take a break from their busy lives. This is supposed to be a peaceful space for the community, not one littered with construction and noise pollution. The only construction we would welcome is one that IMPROVES the park and makes it an even better place than what it is, and I can't say this project is aiming to achieve that at all. This project would severely hinder the daily lifestyle of my family and the Meadowbank community. We will no longer be able to enjoy the core attraction of living in Meadowbank. We hope you strongly consider the negative impact on the lifestyle of so many individuals that call Meadowbank home. Thank you.

I am a Meadowbank resident and would like to express my concern about Sydney Water’s proposed Water Resource Recovery Facility at Camellia and the discharge of treated water into the Parramatta River near Meadowbank Park.

Meadowbank Park and the surrounding areas are important community spaces used daily for walking, running, cycling, and spending time outdoors. They also support local wildlife and vegetation. The proposed construction and related works affecting Memorial Park and Meadow Crescent may cause significant disruption to residents and reduce access to these valued green spaces.

I believe projects like this should minimise impacts on established communities and important public parks. I encourage decision-makers to carefully reconsider the proposal and explore alternatives that better protect our local environment and community spaces.

Environmental damage to the residents of the area.

Theres alot of good things that could come out of this project, but I will strongly object. Mainly due to the route of the project, cutting through the heart of Newington. We have small, tight roads and having to share with trucks and construction workers will definately have a negative impact to the area. The traffic during school drop off and pick up times are already congested enough. We have kids that go to the park everyday, to play soccer and cricket with their friends. This area is crucial to the community and cannot be shut down for months, not even weeks. You will be taking away their freedom and will affect them not only physically but mentally as well. Newington recently had to deal with putrid air quality and what worries me also is the additional dust that will blow into our houses and the kids exposed while at school.

As a local resident in Meadowbank, and someone drawn to the area due to its beautiful natural environment, vibrant birdlife and quiet community feel, this project is deeply concerning. In a pocket of Sydney that has seen rapid overdevelopment and disregard for the natural environment and local amenity, this quieter side of meadowbank and has uniquely intact parts of bushland and centuries old gum trees that offer precious habitat for several native birds and marsupials. New plantings cannot compensate for this. Likewise it is concerning that any additional destruction of habitat, destabilizing of roots, and noise will drive away and diminish this area’s beautiful bird life.
I am also concerned that The project’s anticipated dust, noise and vibrations will significantly impact the quality of life and wellbeing of residents of which there are a very high number and include small children and the elderly in an area that is enjoyed by residents for its quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
I also have significant concerns about the structural impacts of breaking into our shale and sandstone and the potentially unknown destabilizing effects on our properties.
I have significant concerns about the impact this project will have on my qualify of life and the negative effects this project may have on my property value and rental capacity.
Please consider the devastating consequences that this project may have on local people, local birds and the beautiful natural environment.
