I am a local Paddington resident and am writing to you to state my objection to the proposed Paddington tower on Oxford st..

There are many reasons -
1. It removes affordable housing in the area. OUR COMMUNITY HAS ALREADY LOST VALUBLE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO DEVELOPERS preventing previous community residents access back into the area.
We actually need MORE affordable housing. Our community is made up of many socio-ecomomic groups which
Keeps Paddington together as a solid diverse community.
2 The tower is obnoxious and not in keeping with local heritage terraces.
3. There are many other areas more suited to this type of development.
4. We locals are sick and tired of greedy developers trying to cash in and not contribute in a responsible manner. We embrace the diversity of Paddingtons people and cannot afford as a society to exclude and outprice people from all walks of the social ladder.. That is what makes paddington and darlinghurst unique.


NO TOWER.

I have attached my full submission. My main concerns with the proposed development are:

1 Loss of affordable housing, notwithstanding the applicant’s utilisation of the affordable housing provisions of the SEPP (Housing) 2021
2 The scale and design of the proposed development and resulting impacts on the Paddington Heritage Conservation Area, both generally and in particular on dwellings in Shadforth Street and Gipps Street
3 Inappropriate and legally uncertain intention to vary the development standards in the SEPP (Housing) 2021
4 Impacts on traffic on Oxford Street and Glenmore Road, both during construction and subsequent occupation of the development
5 Questionable efficacy of the proposed on-site parking
6 Questionable efficacy of the proposed means of disposing waste from the site
7 Risks to the existing trees in Oxford Street.
