I live in Minchinbury and I am very concerned that if the planned incinerator goes ahead, what will happen to the health of my family and everyone else's around the area. I grew up in Port Kembla surrounded by the Steelworks and many people in the area have had all kinds of health problems because of the air quality due to the Steelworks. I do not want to see this happen here. Put people's health first, especially in a world where the number of cancer patients are growing rapidly.

I am against the project going ahead in its current form.
What is unacceptable is that although it meets current standards, it is far far behind the emission standards achieved by other similar projects worldwide.
As this incinerator is going to remain active at least for the next few decades, it will detrimentally affect the health and wellbeing of my family and slowly poison the locals.
If we are to get rid of the Rubbish for all of Sydney, then it is the responsibility of all Sydney siders to ensure our good health, or they can have it in their backyards.
The project should go ahead, but with the highest emission and other standards achievable worldwide, not just what is the minimum requirement by law as of today.
When higher standards are achievable, and the project is still knowingly planned with substandard goals, it is a show of gross irresponsibility by the government, and misuse of taxpayer's money.

To the Planning Minister,
Western Sydney does not support the proposed building of the largest waste dump and incinerator in the world to be built in the proposed location. Could you please find a location more suitable.
Western Sydney is experiencing a time of fast growth and to be honest your predecessors have let down the people and families of Western Sydney in terms of planning and development of infrastructure. We have minimal hospitals we have a very high percentage of low socioeconomic families who do not have the literacy skills to inform you of their disgust that you plan to let this company build here in our back yards.
The community have voted in local officials and Blacktown is one of the largest councils in NSW. Who are fighting you on our behalf. We are full of potential and we have very good results for our council funds and our councils solar city initiative, We have lots of community gardens and value our air quality which is noticeably better than the city of Sydney.
To build this incinerator will devalue the homes of those who have worked to secure a home. This will increase our health issues and this will impact on the children who already are struggling with reading, writing and by adding this really you are planning to let the children and grandchildren of Western Sydney struggle with health issues that have yet to be fully understood and studied. When these issues begin in the future the local heath systems will buckle under the increase of patients and your NSW health infrastructure will not be able to catch up to demand.
Europe have similar technology could we please wait a few years and see what health affects come from their waste plants and incinerators before we build in our country.
You have decided to give us a second airport that will impact on air quality, noise and land values. Have these two major developments been studied as a whole impact to Western Sydney? Have you seriously thought through the impact this will have on Western Sydney? I have lived in the MT Druitt area for 33 years I am so disappointed that you the planning minister couldn't come up with a better plan for us... Take a moment and consider if you lived in this area, how this would affect you to know that this will affect your health, your children health and your grandchildren's health... we need you to plan a better future for us. That may include more universities, hospital upgrades, school support plans, and better transport systems to and from work. I am more than happy to come and discuss the local needs of our people, please contact me. I am wiling to travel down and talk with you in Canberra. I would love to see your reasoning behind this plan you have proposed.
I do not support the proposed recycling plant building development. You must find a more suitable location if you must build it.
You do not have our support.
The community does not support this development.
Australia does not support the building of the largest incinerator in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.
Western Sydney is relying on your planning skills to help us leave a better future for our kids.
Please help us plan for that.
We are depending on you and your professional judgment of what is right for our community. You have heard from us and our representatives.
Thank you for your help,
Mrs Shellie Pratt

I feel concerned about the long term impacts of the incinerator on the environment and on our communities health. I feel this has not been effectively proven to be safe. I also do not feel it is the right form of waist management to have in a highly populated area. Within our community vulnerable people live with health and respiratory issues. It is not right to expose them to added pollutants especially in an area of society where people maynot be able to afford to move.
Environmental pollutants can travel long distances when put into the atmosphere. I believe this facility will cause health problems for current residents and future generations.
Power and waist management can be dealt with via other means with safer outcomes. I think the impact of this facility on the community would be larger than any benefits. I do not support this development and would like it not to be approved

1) inadequate data on emissions
2) Major health risk
3) Devaluation of real estate
4) no consultation with the residents
A development like this should be made at a greater distance away from any residential area.
