I support the submission by Blacktown City Council, which opposes the construction of a large energy from waste incinerator at Eastern Creek.
Like Council, I believe there are still significant information shortfalls in the Environmental Impact Statement, including the source of the waste and the inability of the applicant to guarantee procedures and processes that satisfactorily demonstrate how all waste will be appropriately sorted.
I also believe the current state environmental legislation will not provide the community with sufficient protection from its likely emissions.
I feel the current State Government is not considering the health or welfare of people of the Greater Western Sydney,in that It is "all good""to push anything that is not wanted to the west, One day will come when the voters of the west will rebel after being not considered as equals.

Franky I am aghast that it is deemed appropriate to burn household waste not only in a densely populated area, but across the road from a primary school and close to a water reservoir.
The laughable sample size used in the "consultation" and the fact that it was kept low key smacks of an attempt to sneak it through. That and the poor independent reviews do not reflect well on the government.
Burning garbage near children and water in an environmentally-charged political climate makes a simple, compelling narrative that can have a lasting effect on all who are associated with it. I would hope that our government would see this as an opportunity to side with the people.

I am strongly opposed and outraged by the plans to pollute and risk the health of my family, local residents and the environment.
It is not suitable to go ahead with the proposed plans in such a built up residential area, in fact for the environment its not suitable under any circumstances.

Further I believe that our local area is already facing significant environmental issues with other development plans such as the Badgery Creek Airport which when combined with the emissions from the incinerator may have a cumulative effect on air quality within this area. Blacktown has a huge residential population which faces significant health problems from this development. The reduction in air quality would be severely detrimental to this population and for the community at large as it absorbs costs for medical needs to be addressed.

DON'T BUILD THE INCINERATOR, DO YOU KNOW WHAT EFFECT YOU'LL BRING UPON AUSTRALIA????? I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE ONLY THINKING ABOUT THE "SHORT TERM" EFFECTS BUT HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED FOR A SECOND WHAT THE LONG TERM EFFECTS WILL BE??
LET ME LIST THEM OUT FOR YOU SINCE YOU CLEARLY HAVEN'T THOUGHT OF THEM:
1. ASTHMA
2. POLLUTION
3.GLOBAL WARMING\4.CANCER AND OTHER SEVERE DISEASES
4.CHANGES IN WEATHER
5.TOURISM WILL DECREASE DRAMATICALLY
6.SYDNEY WILL BECOME A GHOST TOWN
7.THE EFFECTS ON THE FUTURE GENERATIONS HEALTH AND SAFETY
WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS A HYPOCRITICAL ACT, YOU SLAM US IN THE FACE WITH KEEPING OUR ENVIRONMENT CLEAN TO PRESERVE IT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS YET YOU WANT TO DESTROY IT BY BUILDING AN INCINERATOR THAT WONT DESTROY RUBBISH BUT PEOPLES LIVES.
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND STOP THIS DUMB ACT THAT WILL IMPACT AN ENTIRE NATION AND POSSIBLY THE GLOBE.

My familiy and community does not want this incinerator in our backyard.
