I am definitely not in favour of placing an incinerator that burns toxic materials in the middle of Western Sydney in a position that is surrounded by many hundreds of thousands of people. Western Sydney already struggles to have clean air because of our location in the Sydney Basin. The onshore breezes already blow the rest of Sydney's smog out our way. We do not want another local polluter to be spewing potentially dangerous fumes into the mix we have to breathe. Using burning chemical waste in order to generate electricity is a poor excuse to put such a plant in our space. Why not erect a facility that collects sunlight to make electricity without the need to burn toxic waste on the quarry site? Put the incinerator out in the country where there is a lot of open space and less population density and ship the garbage there. Perhaps there are land fill sites that can be used there. Why does it have to be burnt?????

I support the submission by Blacktown City Council, which opposes the construction of a large energy from waste incinerator at Eastern Creek.
Like Council, I believe there are still significant information shortfalls in the Environmental Impact Statement, including the source of the waste and the inability of the applicant to guarantee procedures and processes that satisfactorily demonstrate how all waste will be appropriately sorted.
I also believe the current state environmental legislation will not provide the community with sufficient protection from its likely emissions.

This development is beyond corrupt! Western Sydney is the last place with affordable housing in Sydney. This area has a high volume of young, hard-working families - wanting to give their children a good life. Pumping noxious tonnes of waste emissions into the air is criminal!!

Incinerator emissions are detrimental to human and environment health. Waste incineration systems produce a wide variety of pollutants; toxic metals, dioxins, and acid gases. Dioxin is a highly toxic compound which may cause cancer and neurological damage, and disrupt reproductive systems, thyroid systems, respiratory systems etc

The people of Western Sydney will not forget the Government that supported this horrendous development!

I oppose plans to build an Energy from Waste plant at Eastern Creek.

There are still significant information shortfalls in the EIS, including the source of the waste and the inability of the applicant to guarantee procedures and processes that satisfactorily demonstrate how all industrial waste will be appropriately sorted.

They are still to guarantee that their predictions of low emissions are valid and achievable.

The incinerator proposal fails to comply with the area's zoning requirements and is therefore prohibited.

It will have a significant impact on critically endangered ecological communities.

Furthermore the location and design of the Energy from Waste plant fails to encourage a high standard of development.

I don't want an incinerator down the road. Build it in Whoop Whoop away from suburban areas.

I oppose this proposed development. I am 94 years of age and it is unlikely that this development will affect me at my point in life, however, I have 3 generations of my family living in Minchinbury, the youngest being my great grandchild, who, at 12 years of age, deserves to grow up in a toxic free environment. I do not see the need to build such a facility when there is clearly not enough evidence to suggest it is safe. I have been around long enough to know that glossy brochures in my letterbox suggesting the facility is safe spells a cover up. Frankly, there is no need nor good reason this development should go ahead. I will not be around later to say "I told you so." I have no reservations in saying this should definitely not go ahead.

With all of the empty and uninhabited places in Australia I am so disgusted and disheartened that anyone could fathom building such a facility among a residential area. The lives and health of the residents that will be affected by this obviously have no value to the prospective developers. My family and I bought our home here in recent years with the intention of settling here for good and raising our children in this area and in the school son this area. Now I have to consider leaving the area as I have a child with bad asthma and if this goes ahead our quality of air will be greatly diminished. Never mind that it will devalue our homes. Who wants to live next to such a thing!!!!

Dear Government,
I am very concerned and outraged by the worlds biggest incinerator that is going to be built near my home and especially school! It is going to give so much pollution and it will make everyone get cancer, and asthma. There are people that are going to have to move homes including my family friends that live 2km near eastern creek! Please do not build this! Think of all the thousands residents that are going to have their lives ruined! Western Sydney is already going through a very hard time with the airport so don't burden this on us as well. It is simply not fair!
