I am totally against such short-sighted developments. We should
absolutely not be investing in gas pipelines, when it is clear that
the world needs to transition rapidly away from fossil fuel use and
carbon dioxide generation. We must invest instead in any sustainable
options.

The company claims there are no changes to the environmental or amenity
impacts, but that ignores changes that happen over time. New
ecological communities have been listed as endangered, National Parks
have been extended, new towns have emerged and existing towns have
grown, new farming enterprises have been embarked upon, and the
justification for the project has dramatically changed.
The landscape through which this pipeline proposes to run has changed
over the last decade and with it, so has the impact this pipeline will
inflict on people, the environment and local economies. It is not
acceptable for the Department of Planning to extend the deadline for
this consent by another five years.

To Whom It May Concern;
I am writing to make a submission against the Hunter CSG Pipeline, for
the following reasons:
This pipeline traverses ten local government areas, crossing several
rivers and beautiful farmland and bushland between the Queensland
border and Newcastle.
It passes by the Pilliga, and the company behind the pipeline is eager
to transport CSG drilled from the Pilliga to Queensland or Newcastle.
It passes through rich cropping lands south of Moree and on the
Liverpool Plains
It crosses the Namoi River five times, and the Hunter River on the
outskirts of Aberdeen, Morpeth and Tomago, cutting the wetlands of Ash
Island to the North Arm of the Hunter River on Kooragang Island.

We don't need a pipeline.
Methane gas does not have to be dug up out of the ground from fossils.
Humans make methane when they do a number 2, this waste is waste and
can be reused for gas e.g. Oslo buses run on methane. We are in and
out droughts we need to be smarter not lazy. Solar farms need to be
set up not CSG pipelines. Wouldn't it be great if the pipeline fails
and there's a huge fire - great burning kilometres of farm and grazing
land, destroying habitats. Sewerage ends up in the waterways e.g.
Parramatta river. But if you're smart and reuse it it doesn't. We need
to start investing in the future not in the past.

CSG is polluting and causes earthquakes.
The Pilliga contains critical aquifers - to encourage CSG mining in
this area is environmental vandalism of the highest order.
I believe politicians who encourage this should be sued and jailed -
retrospectively if needs be.

I oppose the gas lines on the following grounds:
CSG is a polluting and earthquake triggering form of mining that is
poorly monitored by regulators.
The Pilliga is an area containing crucial aquifers.
To encourage this is pure environmental vandalism and any minister
that supports it should be personally sued and jailed.

The Queensland-Hunter Gas Pipeline proposal must be allowed to expire.
The area through which this project proposes to go through has changed
over the last 10 years.
The company claims there are no changes to the environmental or
amenity impacts, but that ignores changes that naturally happen over
the time. New ecological communities have been listed as endangered,
National Parks have been extended, new towns have emerged and existing
towns have grown, new farming enterprises have been started.
The impact this pipeline will inflict on people, communities,
environment and local economies is unknown and cannot be assumed on.
Due to these reasons Department of Planning must not be extending the
deadline for this consent.
