The importance of mining in the Hunter valley is beyond important to keep the local towns alive and people employed, we can not afford to loose mining in the Hunter valley as it will kill our local communities

The project supports thousands of local jobs, not just direct employees but independent contractors. It is vital to keep this operation going to keep the economy growing within the Hunter valley. Discontinuing this project would severely damage economic stability and result in this loss of thousands of jobs within the Hunter

HVO's contribution to the upper Hunter communities is second to none.
They inject billions of dollars into the local and Australian economies and communities.
They provide jobs directly to more than 1500 people (myself included), and to more than 600 other contractors and businesses.
They have put significant effort into planning and refining their plans to allow the mine to continue benefiting thousands of individuals and families, while also proactively caring for the local environment now, and into the future, for example with the plans to reduce the life of the mine fractionally, while also greatly reducing emissions, impacts on the environment and continuing successful rehabilitation.
To say that not supporting HVOs continuations projects would be absolutely absurd, unwise or irrational, is an understatement.

I am in support of the project continuing not only for the benefit of the local community but also to provide prosperity for our families.
Approval of the project will mean that we (the workers) will continue be able to provide for our families and invest time and money into the local communities and businesses surrounding.
