I rely on my job at Warkworth to provide for my household. It is vital to myself, my family, my fellow workmates and the surrounding communities that Warkworth continues to operate.

As an employee of Mount Thorley Warkworth and a long time local of Singleton i fully support the extension of MTW. My job and the jobs of many are relying on a successful application not just those employed at the site but the loss of jobs from the flow on effect will be enormous. I have already seen an impact on the local economy and businesses in Singleton in all sectors with some closing the doors for good while others downsize. i believe the continuation of mining in Singleton and at MTW to be of extreme importance to the local, regional and statewide economy. I imlpore you to not allow so few to destroy the hopes and needs of so many. Thank You

I have been a contractor operator through skilled employed at Mount Thorley Warkworth mine for 2.5 years. I started as a trainee. The need for this expansion to get approval is very important - not just for me and my young family, but for all the workers at the mine. The Hunter is known for its coal mines. Everyone will suffer if this expansion doesnt go through. It affects the small businesses along with big businesses. Everytime you fill up your car with fuel or turn on a light or appliance - I and my fellow workers are the reason that is possible. Without Mount Thorley Warkworth Mine - everyone will be worse off. The Mines do help alot of sporting organisations and schools with funding for projects that they normally couldnt afford. Keep mining in the Hunter instead of everything coming from overseas.

The entire economy of the Hunter Valley and Newcastle region is supported by coal mines such as MTW.

Without the continued support and approvals of these mines, towns such as Singleton, Muswellbrook and Cessnock will suffer greatly in the short term and Newcastle in general in the longer term.

The continuation of the Warkworth Mine is vital for the contined viability of the operation which is a significant contributor to local employment and the local economy of the Singleton Shire, as well as more broadly for the State of NSW and beyond. The Warkworth Mine has been in operation for over 30 years and the continuation proposal is situated inside a long established mining lease. The proposal is not for a new mining development and the government should support the continuation of existing mining operations.

The continuation of the Mount Thorley Warkworth operation at their current production is vital to the Hunter Region and the communities that reside within it. As a community member I have seen the decline in the prosperity of the region and the act of dismantling a successful operation which supports and employs a large amount of the local community is ludicrous.
