I support the project as it has a large positive effect to the local community. Hunter Valley Operations get involved, help out and support local communities. The continuation of this project is relied upon by thousands of direct and indirect employees and contractors who are members of the community. The loss of this project would have a devastating outcome for a large number of local families and businesses and also a huge loss for the NSW economy as a whole.

i am currently an employee at hunter valley operations, if this continuation of the project does not go forward it would leave my family in the unknown of our futures, financial stability and my mental state would go down the drain. there is a huge future here for the next generations of people to enjoy and provide for their families when the project does get approved, i believe that hvo would be a great place for my two boys to work if they were to choose a future in mining. there is more opportunity for learning be it in maintenance, engineering, production, human resources, training, mine planning, geotec, and other various roles that benefit the community and my two young boys. i would be proud to say they work at hvo. not only that, Hvo offers sponsorships, working bees, grants, and rehabbed land for the locals to enjoy after mine is complete. community is everything to hunter valley operations, most of all seeing my family not miss out on anything and being able to provide for them and to be comfortable in life is my major goal in life. this approval can guarantee that happen for me on a personal level.

HVO North Open Cut Coal Continuation Project will provide not only myself but thousands of other people a job for the next 27 years in a largely populated area in the Hunter Valley. The future effects with local towns booming in housing development needs to maintain a strong local workforce in order to maintain the local economy and continually provide a reason for people to move to the Hunter Valley. Being the largest mine in the valley it is an obvious choice to maintain this workforce and this workplace to provide a financially stable economy for the foreseeable future.

I strongly support the HVO continuation project, not only will this secure the future for my young growing family but many other families within the Hunter valley. HVO is a great place to work and I have seen firsthand how the local communities surrounding HVO benefit from such a project.

To the board , with your help we can continue to support the Hunter Valley people , community , projects & employment that HVO offers , without their continued support the community would not be what it is today , i live and work in the valley and wish to remain here for the rest of my working life and retirement , you can see the effects of economic pressures with empty & for lease shops , not a good look for our town , so with the continuation project approved the town will live on yours sincerely Richard Brown

I am a local who works at HVO. The money I make here allows me to donate to local animal rescues, and also help support my mum. When gift shopping I aim to support local, even if it is a little more expensive as this job gives me the freedom to do so. This directly allows for growth in the local business community.
Without HVO, over 1000 people will lose jobs and that will result directly in businesses missing out on sales.
I think HVO continuing in a safe manner, whilst being vigilant about their environmental impact, are important for both the mine, community, and local families.

HVO is a vital workplace in the Hunter Region. It's large scale provides direct jobs for 1500+ employees. Not only does HVO employ directly, they contract employees, which further creates local jobs. As an apprentice of this workplace, I have received endless amounts of training which I would not be provided with elsewhere. HVO is well backed by the community and often receives positive feedback from locals. HVO prides themselves on giving back to our local community (Singleton). This project fuels the economy throughout the Hunter Valley.

Ive been fortunate enough to be presented with the opportunity to carry out my traineeship through programmed skilled Workforce, but I was contracted to Hunter Valley Operations.
This job, with this company and the future opportunities it presents to me and all my colleagues are not only our livelihoods, but for most it's the place we will further our careers.
HVO is engaged with the surrounding communities, getting involved with charity and fundraising events throughout each year, to show they support the local community and also it's economy.
If this continuation is approved, not only will it give us, it's employees peace of mind and security, but it will mean that HVO can keep on supporting local businesses, charities and fundraising events for the foreseeable future.
Thank you for taking time to read through my submission.
