Hvo is an important part of the local economy for many reasons.
It provides employment to over 1400 people directly
It provides apprenticeships to give people a start into a great career.
It brings business to singleton and other local suppliers.
Hvo conducts it's operations responsibly with a strong environmental focus.

My Family have based there lives and future around this project going ahead.

As a local community member I value the open cut mining industry and the benefits it brings to my community.

Mining in the Hunter Valley has been the very foundation of the communities in the areas surrounding mines. The continuation of Hunter Valley Operations will undoubtedly continue to generate support for local workers and their communities to assist in the slow transition to greener energy for the next 20 - 30 years as coal powered assets start to become redundant and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Too many locals rely on the need for mining and they need the support of the government to introduce plans in the future to ensure excess of workforce being made redundant and displaced in the future does not have massive impact to these local communities

I support this project as it employees so many people in this area and will provide job security for myself and many others in this community as well as it supports so many sporting ,community and charity organisations in this area.

I support the project because I work for HVO I rely on HVO for my job & my family to be able to provide for my family to pay my bills & mortgage the mines are a very important part of the community & thousands of people work for the mine & rely on them so I hope the continuation for HVO is approved.

I grew up in the Upper Hunter as part of a mining family. I saw the benefits of mining in supporting the local community in which i grew up through the utilization of other support businesses, direct donations and the creation of jobs.

I have worked in the mining industry for the last 13 years, with the last 5 of these years at HVO. My husband and i live in the local community and our children attend school, participate in sport and extra curricular activities and we all attend community events. All of these things are supported by mining. HVO as the largest single operation in the area provides a huge amount of support to the local community through local spending, donations and employment. With a long mine life, HVO can continue to provide this support to the local area and provide long term , stable employment for a large number of people directly or through contractors and suppliers.

Without the support of mining and in particular HVO, services, funding and opportunity greatly diminishes within the Singleton LGA and neighboring communities.

The continuation of hvo North would be a great outcome for the region and my family provided a solid job future for us
