As a resident who lives near the mine, I fully support the extension. I can directly see both the economic and environmental benefits of HVO are a necessity for the livelihood of the upper hunter.

I'm in support for the HVO continuation project

The approval for this project is vital for the Hunter Valley. The royalties received from projects such as this pay for our schooling, Emergency services and health care.

I live locally to the area plus also work for Glencore.

The employees need this to continue to work

The future of HVO North is vital to the economy of the Hunter Valley and State of NSW. Not only through the coal they mine for domestic and international markets but for the people they employ, their families , the community, local businesses and their ability to provide a wide range of career options for generations to come. If approved there will be employment opportunities for approximately 1500 people, what other industry can add that type of security in a regional area? HVO have made a commitment to continue their support of local businesses and to make the roads and bridge near the mine a safer, more reliable route, particularly in wet weather. All areas of the environment and final voids have been considered and are included in HVO's planning for the future.
