I strongly object to the Indigo by Moran Seniors Living proposal as it stands. The 6 storey height is far too tall for our low-rise neighbourhood and will negatively impact traffic, parking, and the local character.
I urge the Department to reduce the building height to no more than 3 storeys and lower the overall density to better fit our community.
the development is too large for site and environment. To maintain the beauty and atmosphere of this beach side suburb. This is not specialised aged care living it is very expensive apartments for over 60's. Ocean street is already very busy and used as an alternative to already traffic choked Pittwater Road and would not cope with additional traffic
Take a stand and say no to this development as proposed, once the atmosphere of an area its gone its gone forever - please consider sudmissions requesting we say no to this application and scale it back

Completely inappropriate for the area and exceeded well above a suitable height for the local area. MORE over 55s buildings that benefit the older generations and push the younger generations out of the northern beaches housing market. Absolutely horrible proposal for the area that will eradicate any natural light to surrounding properties and will loom heavy over Narrabeen.

My Name is Ben Short, I am the chairman of the North Narrabeen National Surfing reserve, I have lived on Ocean St for 42 years of my life and have watched it change and adapt during that time. The area has become extremely gentrified, and now there are barely any children living on the Narrabeen Peninsula due to the lack of affordable housing. This was quite apparent at this years halloween, with the normally vibrant Lisle street having barely any children trick or treating compared to previous years. Schools in the area are also seeing dwindling numbers in enrolments as young families are priced out of the area.

When the development was originally announced, I had thought this could be great, the developer could build some aged care and some affordable housing, but it seems they didn't get the memo and are building something that no one is asking for or wants for that matter.

Narrabeen used to be a young vibrant community, it is now an old wealthy community and this is not a good thing. If there are no children or young people, who will work in the shops, who will look after the elderly?

This development could be taken as an opportunity to provide some affordable housing mixed in with some over 60's housing, as well aged care beds.

The main issues with the proposed development -

* There has been no community consultation for this development.
* The current proposed height is 70% above what is allowed.
* The development overshadows neighbouring properties.
* The development being set on the boundaries dwarfs neighbouring properties, particularly on the South & West sides which will lose their winter sun, adding to heating costs and increasing chance of mould etc.
* Traffic issues - it is already extremely difficult to park on ocean st and surrounds, this will add at least 150 extra cars to the area making the parking situation much worse.
* Increased traffic, during busy times it is impossible to cross ocean street due to the traffic, this will get worse with the addition of up to 150 extra cars.
* Sewerage, has analysis been done to see the impacts of the additional sewerage from these new developements.
* Builders accessing site, and materials being delivered, for a site of this magnitude how will the workers and materials be delivered to the site on what are quite small, busy streets. This will greatly disrupt traffic on Ocean St for the duration of the build.
* The development contains no affordable housing options and is purely focussed on "Luxury dwellings".

This is totally out of place for the location. The beach will not get sun and houses around the site will be severely impacted. Six storeys is ridiculous!!! Units are fine but keep them to 3 storeys.

Why do developers want to take away from the local low rise of Narrabeen Peninsular along Ocean Street and the surrounding streets. Wasn’t this development originally meant to be three stores? Now it’s become a six-story 4 building eyesore development with 149 apartments — which would easily bring at least 200 cars to the area. That’s a serious safety hazard for Lagoon Street and the surrounding streets for local residents. Will there be community infrastructure to deal with this?
With every tree being removed, I hope there’s a commitment to replant 2 trees for 1 being removed. So much for privacy. Will this four-building structure be built right on the boundary lines? I’ll now be leaving my home only to face a wall of brick across the road.
This development doesn’t align with the local character of Ocean Street or the surrounding neighborhood. It feels like sheer development greed with no benefit for the community.

I wish to formally lodge an objection to the proposed development at 156–164 Ocean Street, Narrabeen. My concerns relate to the Visual Impact, Building Height, Traffic and Parking, Tree Removal, Flood Risk, and, in particular, the pricing of the proposed senior units, which is inconsistent with the financial capacity of the majority of the local community. To better align with the surrounding built environment and maintain the character of the area, the proposed development should be reduced by two to three levels, allowing it to sit more comfortably within the streetscape and avoid becoming visually and socially polarising to the local community.

I have lived in the area all my life and am aware that the height and size of this building is not legally within the current scope for buildings in the area. Apart from the size and height the surrounding streets will not cope with the extra traffic a building of this size will generate and having been advised of the parking that has been allocated within the complex, they will also be inundated with parked cars. Local homes will lose natural light, and privacy as this building will dwarf the current structures.
This development is not in keeping with the current standards for this area and Narrabeen was not listed as one of the areas to have this type of development approved, unlike Mona Vale, Frenchs Forest & Dee Why.
This site was previously an aged care facility, comprising of individual units (self - care) and a section with beds for those requiring more help. This development offers a few beds for nursing the elderly, no social housing and a lot of very expensive units for those fortunate enough to have a lot of money to retire on. Traditionally this area was occupied by battlers who at this time would struggle to live in the area. This development should not go ahead.

I live at 70A Lagoon Street but also own 70 Lagoon Street. Hence, I want to add opposition to the development.
The east facing 70 Lagoon street property will be adversely impacted by shading of this over development due to the excessive height and lack of inset.
Also, the additional 178 cars from within the building and the additional cars on the street from support staff, visitors and additional cars owned by residents that are not catered for will have a significant impact on congestion and will be a safety issue. No off-street parking being provided is a major issue and cannot be supported - there is a primary school and kindergarten in Lagoon street .

The proposed development is totally fals in every aspect. the concept is missing every COMMON SENCE!!!
It is not fit in the enviroment, in the aera lifesile, but the one ofthe problem it is not fit to the pupouse. Retirement is not penthause living, it is downgrading. Not shoing up with luxury penthause,it is living quitly with relaxing lifestile.
The project ugly, inappropiate.Overdevelopment is a solid discripson for it
The authoryty who do not rejected this application i the beginning is absulut oaut of tuch for the represented community everiday life
Please reject tis project from the root befor furthe time and monay throught out the window.
Kind regards
a local resident
