As a wildlife rescuer and carer for the last several years and as someone who has had extensive practical experience in the Mount Fairy and Mulloon strip rescuing wildlife and on individual properties, I believe that this proposal will have a catastrophic and irreversible effect on local and migratory native wildlife. I have had experience in birds which include common parrot species, black and white and corvid, raptors, owls and nightjars, red and yellow tail black cockatoos, kingfishers including kookaburras and sacred kingfishers, reptiles including monitors, bats including fruit bats, micro bats like lesser long-eareds, goulds and highly endangered bentwing microbats, wombats, macropods and brown, black, tiger, copperhead snakes. As a local rescuer and carer, I have also have been assessing the entire area for breeding, migration and have discovered the entire area is sensitive for flying animals from the north up near Goulburn, the South from Cooma, and from the West from the coast. The corridors of animal movement of Bentwing bats from Wee Jasper caves to the newly discovered Mount Fairy winter roost is logical of the movement of all the cave bats to Bungonia and is the same path as all the microbat species as well as migrating cockatoos and kingfishers. This development is not necessary for the load required by Bungendore and surrounds and the whole proposal is obviously one of the first example of renewable energy exploitation and greed. The recent fires in Mount fairy being started by Capital Windfarm workers but not admitted and the issues of being cut off by turbines for water collection by aircraft are extremely serious for local residents and a the Palerang hill fire in approximately 5 years ago that was serious enough to threaten everything between Bungendore and Braidwood above and below Kings Highway and this proposal could threaten the local modus vivendi. As a wildlife rescuer already picking up the pieces of and ignorant and greedy over-development and community is being asked more an more of.

I object to the Jupiter Wind Farm Proposal.

I object until such time as your Department has provided evidence, which will stand up in court, that the wind farm will not blight the view from my particular property or surrounding areas and will not in any way, such as noise, harm our sleep or health or harm our amenity on this property or in ways harm our lifestyle, including reception for TV, radio, mobile and internet, and that it will not increase the bushfire threat to my property or increase the difficulty of protecting my property from bushfires or devalue my property.

I look forward to the provision by you of fully researched analysis independent of the developer, in relation to this particular property, to establish there will be no harm and, in the absence of suggest evidence, register my objection.

I support the completion of the Jupiter Wind Farm Project and the pursuit of harnessing renewable energy resources more generally. I believe that it is important to begin to rely on less harmful and pollutant solutions for our future and for the generations to come.

In regards to the particular site proposed for the Jupiter project and the impact on the community, I also support the project.
I would like to see the benefits that the project will bring in an economic capacity, particularly for host landowners and for the area generally.
The economic benefits for hosts will allow farming families to remain on their properties, at a time when returns are almost unviable as a primary source of income for honest, hard working families.
The wider benefits such as improved shared infrastructure and stimulating the local economy through indirect support of local business will also be a positive for those landowners that have moved to the area for the lifestyle.
There are many successful precedents from around the world of wind farms being incorporated into communities for mutually beneficial outcomes and I would be pleased to see the benefits that the Jupiter project presents, come to fruition.

Concerns for the visual impact it will have from our residence given the proposed height and location of the turbines.

As well as increased traffic on roads in the area that already require upgrading given the amount of traffic that currently uses them and the state of repair they are currently in.

We object to the proposed Jupiter wind farm.
There are a number of turbines within 2km of our home, and a number within close proximity to our boundary fence, and we feel that this is too close.
There will be significant visual impacts to our home and property, and the proposed screening for our site is unsuitable for a number of reasons: it would block our views which is a large part of the value of our land; it would increase the bushfire risk to our home and it would violate our building approval by planting on or shading the evaporation beds of our wastewater treatment system.

As a young couple who have purchased our first property in the hope to be able to set it up just the way we want it, slog out some hard years and would have hoped to be able to sell it on in the years to come have had it all thrown back in our face with the proposed wind farm. Not only will it effect our business we hoped to set up one day but it has also greatly made us realise that our resell value you be greatly effected. For a young couple that built their home and are complete off the grid I believe we do our own part to help the environment with our solar power and tank water. But why should we be punished by having the sight, sound and value if our property decreased by the proposed wind farm.
Our business that we hoped to establish will be greatly impacting with the noise and visual effects of the shadow that will be casted across our property. We are within the several that are actually less than 2klm of the closet turbine and the Jupiter consultants still can't supply us with an accurate drawing of the visual impacts that we know we will be facing.
It is unfair to see our hopes and dreams taken away from us as we have worked so hard to get to where we currently are. Yes we would all love to own land closer to canberra, closer to our jobs but some of us can not afford that straight away. Instead we settle a bit further out. Put in the time and effort to get our property right. Start a family in the hopes that by the time our children are in high school we may not live so far away from the private excellent schools that are available in canberra. But now we are watching our hopes and dreams wash away as we come to the realisation of what our future holds. Please really consider how many of us out here already do so much for the environment Wether it be in the way of solar panels, planting trees, recycling or volunteering to pick up rubbish off the highways. Why are we the ones who get effected by the wind farm when none of us will benefit from the electricity that they will produce.

My family and I are frequent visitors to Mr Ken Pitman's farm known as "Coriole". The ambience and tranquility of his estate is unparalleled. It would be tantamount to environmental vandalism to construct a wind farm in the area under consideration.
Please do not proceed with this project.
I and my family are the first to acknowledge that green power is necessary, however NOT at the cost of destroying this wonderful part of the world. The serenity would be forever lost with this project.I implore not to allow this to happen.
Regards,
Dale Youden.

If the government agrees that this is a sound proposal then the Tallaganda State forest wConsultation:
My property Coriole has at its boundary the south west border of the proposed Jupiter Wind Farm. Right from the beginning I was never consulted nor advised of any proceeding about this proposal. I had to contact Mr Ibs after a neighbour advised me that a wind farm project was being proposed.
I bought this property some 30 years ago for my retirement. Over those years I have I planted over 2 thousand trees and developed the property to the point where it has become a successful Band B where people come to revel in the rural landscape and enjoy the rich fauna and flora that the property provides.
I am retiring this year and was looking forward to rely on my property to sustain me into the future. The threat of this project puts all that into doubt. Who would want to visit/buy a property 450 meters from an 173 m turbine!
My house is 1491 meters from another turbine. I use my whole property. The developer suggesting they plant 4 gum trees in front of my view that would take 30 years to grow as a solution is just ridiculous.
Michael Bligh the landscape architect I employed to design my vision place the trees to the sides of the view to the north. The same view the developer wants to place their hideous turbines and then hide them with gum trees that will take some 30 years to get to the height proposed to block that view.
I feel my life's work about to become worthless. I cannot see a rush to buy a property so close to this industrial development.
It's just too close.hich is immediately to my southern boundary and at a higher attitude must surely be a better option.

I believe this area in NSW is too picturesque to destroy with an ugly wind farm.
We spend many happy holidays in this area of NSW .
We don't want to see and ugly wind farm doing irreparable damage to this beautiful part of our country.
Why ruin such a lovely PEACEFUL place! Because that is
what will happen.

I am broadly in favour of wind farms as a viable alternative to pollution-generating coal- and gas-fired power generation.

I was quite pleased when this application came through, and thought it an opportunity to participate in the set up of a community wind farm.

I am no longer in favour of this particular project, for reasons that would apply to any large industrial project that behaved in this way.

* The feeling I get from the people at EPYC is that they expected the local people to automatically accept large industry in their rural area, and were surprised when opposition occurred.

* Communication as between equals has not been good. We, again, get the feeling we've been treated as of least importance in the whole process, and it's only because of community pressure that constant and consistent information has been provided over the last year.

* The project scale feels inappropriately large and insensitively placed, as regards the visual amenity of this rural location and those directly impacted. The planning documents acknowledge the visual impact but the mitigation strategies rely on natural growth to hide the turbines, rather than assessing more sensitive placement of the turbines. As locals will know, relying on Mother Nature to permit the growth of plants in this region is a cause doomed to disappointment.

* Objections raised by other individuals and groups to various aspects of the planning documents suggest that some more negative aspects of the visual impact of the turbines may have been glossed over, or inadequate information supplied. I cannot speak to these personally, but the plain fact is that it's hard to trust the documents, as EPYC have not had a good history of providing full and complete answers to questions in the past.

* EPYC's willingness to become actually involved in the local communities is not evident. The existing windfarms are generous with, and cognisant of the need for, community donations and involvement; the "Run with the Wind" marathon is becoming a fixture. EPYC don't seem to understand that the political situation around wind farms - or any large project in a rural area - makes such involvement necessary, rather than optional.

For these reasons, I do not believe the Jupiter Wind Farm, as currently run by EPYC, is a good fit, in its current form or location, for the region.

Council has decided to object to this project.

I am not aware of Council's likeihood / consequences values.

Would you please advise what these are with regards to the obvious effects of climate change eg bushfires , incresed chances of extreme weather now being experienced?-

PLEASE DO NOT RUIN WHAT NATURAL RURAL ENVIRONMENT WE HAVE LEFT HERE IN AUSTRALIA. We purchased our property for a tree change and to live in a natural surrounding, not for a concrete jungle. The visual impact you would impose on us is horrendous. We would be completely surrounded by wind towers and would take this personally. We take it personally that you would even propose more wind towers. We have views which we prize and are important to their lifestyle. Numerous moving industrial structures 40 metres higher than Sydney Harbour Bridge destroy that peaceful character.
The EIS has identified very large numbers of properties which will suddenly have wind turbines in their view. In a great many cases thirty, forty or more wind turbines would be visible. That is us
Noise impacts affect our sleep and our children's sleep. This causes a plethora of mental and physical health issues in itself long and short term.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to comment on the proposed Jupiter windfarm. I object on the grounds that this intrusion into what is supposed to be a rural residential area has a much wider adverse impact than it seems, on many more people both now and into the future. I have only recently seen the damage caused by the bushfire, and am shocked at the loss.
My parents own a rural residential property at Barnet, Mt Fairy NSW, and we have been there many times for family events, including even a family wedding. My husband and I have enjoyed introducing our toddler and preschooler to bush camping there, and were expecting to do so increasingly in the future. As they grow older we expect our own children will spend more time there experiencing the Australian bush, gaining outdoor and camping skills, and learning to appreciate, enjoy and respect the wildlife, including wallabies, wombats, kangaroos, echidna's, bats, snakes, lizards and wedge-tailed eagles.
The above are experiences and skills that are denied to more and more Australian children, and are devalued by adding industrial-type constructions such as wind towers and transmission lines to the area. People like my parents invest in a rural residential environment when they think the government is planning it to stay that way, but their future and plans for their children and grandchildren are betrayed when the `rural residential' rules are changed retrospectively by the government.
Also, as a result of the recent bushfire, which started because of the Currandooley windfarm, our family's current and future enjoyment of our bush retreat has been devastated. Nearly a third of the property is now burnt out as well as scarred by wide fire control tracks. Gone is the bike track and shelter built by my brothers. Gone is the bush where the echidnas, kangaroos and wallabies used to inhabit, now blackened and bulldozed. My parents are paying still paying their rates and land taxes but cannot enjoy a big part of the property, while also having to meet costs of new fencing, gates, and remediate large areas of bulldozed fire control tracks.
The proposal to build this large windfarm near and around a residential area is objectionable because it threatens the substantial financial and other investments my parents have made in my future and that of my siblings, and my children. It is a demonstrable fire risk. Windfarms create industrial fire risks, in the bush. When the government changes the rules about the area, it destroys people's investments and places future investments in `place' and `community' at risk. It is not only the adverse effects on the landowners in the estate that must be counted, but also those others who use, enjoy and value this rural residential environment. This includes the many friends and visitors, as well as close relatives with a stake in its future, such as our children, our parents' grandchildren. These opportunistic proposals also create conflicts within a friendly and close community. Even good neighbours can end up falling out over such a divisive issue.
The proposed windfarm would substantially change the character and enjoyment of the Barnet Estate and the benefits of investing in its future. If it is turned into a semi industrial area, remaining property owners and residents should not be paying rural residential rates and taxes, as its real value is substantially less. And there should be full compensation for the lost value, greater risks of property loss, and reduced amenity for those who do not sell out.
No wonder people generally are rebelling against governments riding roughshod over their planning for the future. The proposal should be firmly rejected by our local council and State government, and less damaging and less risky options for renewable energy adopted.

Research into the effects of wind farms on the health of humans is relatively new and care should be taken to conclude that there will be no longer term effects as new research emerges into the role of the environment on the developing fetus. One area of research is the effect of maternal cortisol levels on infant mental health and motor development. Increases in cortisol levels can be caused by increased levels of stress.
Agnew, Smith & Fowkes 2016, in the Journal of Wildlife Diseases suggested in their study that turbine noise caused high levels of stress in badgers and that this then caused high cortisol levels. The authors further suggested that these increased levels of cortisol may affect the badgers' immune system increasing the risk of infections.
While research has examined the impact on noise from wind turbines on adults, I am not aware of any research that has examined the impact of noise retrospectively on child health outcomes and I have concerns as a research student that the placing of 88 wind turbines in an area where young families is placing at risk the future health of children.

I object to the wind farm going ahead on the grounds that it may affect me and my family health wise and financial wise and also may affect my livestock on the property and I don't want them to imped or block my view in any way. If any of the above happens I will be seeking compensation.

This objection was put in before the 1st of march as this was the deadline for people helping with the bush fires that were very close to our area.
