Mod 4 - Extend Trial

The events at Parklands need to continue in a permanent way. The events need the security of permanence in order to do any long term planning.
They bring millions of dollars into the local community. They provide employment and training that otherwise does not exist in the area.

I am a contractor with the North Byron Parklands venue. I am also a contractor working with the Splendour in the Grass organisation for a 6 month period each year. These two organisations provide a large bulk of my annual family income. I strongly support the North Byron Parklands request for an extension of its trial period. The absence of these events at Parklands (and the prospect of them moving into another state) would be a disaster for my family's livelihood and for the Byron Shire. The events provide a regular income for myself and hundreds of other contractors and businesses in the Byron Shire.

Splendour and Falls are businesses that support and bring national and international social and financial interaction to a relatively small populated area.
I and my colleagues strongly approve of those festivals to continue with their input in this strategic position which balances the flow of tourists between gold coast and Byron bay.

North Byron Parklands is an important facility that provides employment for hundreds of locals and brings in much needed income for local small business. Furthermore, it is an outlet for young people from all over the nation. The events at the Parkland raises the profile of the region with next to no adverse impact on the neighbours and environment.

We support this extension and would like to see the festivals continue.

I would like to put out my support for the Plan and Project Approval for the Cultural Events Site at North Byron Parklands. I think that by extending the trial period for outdoor events of up to 35,000 patrons by a further 20 months to August 2019 will allow the festival organisers to achieve a well thought after, policies & procedures that show consideration of our community, and our environment.
I have been a part of all the festivals in North Byron Parklands from day one, and every festival the improvement is very noticeable.
I believe that the benefits in having festivals at this scale are huge; Culturally, financially bringing people together, and supporting music.
I am all for it!!!

I'd love to support Byron Bay and its annual festivals to help out locals and their business. Its also been an amazing experience to be part of these festivals and it has helped REPPIN raise awareness on mental health.

Music can bring so many wonderful people together and it would be upsetting to so many to see this discontinue.

Let people live....we need it in the shire!!
it's good for the economy in Byron shire and beyond

As a local resident for over 35 years I welcome events such as Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass. They bring so much diversity, colour and lifel to the area. And dare it be said, many people prosper as a result! I'm proud that I live in a place where the majority of people I meet go to festivals and enjoy themselves. It's speaks of life and I'm definitely pro life. Thanks for giving me the space for sharing my opinion.

It is a valuable asset to the community and all who are employed directly and indirectly.

Everyone loves their time at the parklands at Splendour in the grass & Falls. Would be such a shame to not have these events for the people as they are so unique.

Splendour in the Grass and Fall Festival are definitely needed for thousands of people who love music and act as excellent retreats for these people. I positively support to have these two events to continue permanently.

I have attended all events at this site as a vendor selling clothing. The venue is great. Layout amazing and has been a key part of my business. It opens my brand to new customers and raises much needed revenue for my family. As I live in the Byron Shire my income from this just trickles down into the community in which I live. We shop locally. We attend Farmers Markets for produce. We support our community.
The other key importance is culturally. Because it's a music festival I think people forget that this is the arts. The festival is continuously putting on acts that push the patrons frontiers and perceptions and that is a great service and responsibility. And is executed year after year brilliantly.
It would be a great shame, criminal, for a site this well planned , executed, and beautiful to not be allowed to trade and expand to it's potential.

I support the extension of the trial period at North Byron Parklands. As a caterer at this event it is very important to my livelihood that it continue to run.

This is an iconic festival that brings in people from all over the globe together to celebrate life, music, friendship etc.
It also creates jobs and is a wonderful platform for local traders to showcase their goods, us included.
It also puts the Byron Shire on an international platform and helps boost the local economy.
The organisers are great at keeping festival goers respectful of the environment which they reside n for the weekend

Having been a part of Falls and Splendour in the Grass festivals for the past eight years, I would like to express my support towards the request to extend the trial period for outdoor events of up to 35,000 patrons by a further 20 months to August 2019.
My business operates at these two above festivals each year and is the main source of income for myself, along with offering employment to locals during these times.
