I disagree with the way about the process rio tinto took for the extension but I strongly agree with the extension in principal far too many jobs at stake not just of the direct employees but local contractors, suppliers and other supporting business to the local communities as well.

Warkworth Coal Mine provides great benefit to its employees, suppliers, the local community and the NSW economy. The mine uses best practice operating procedures and technologies to prevent any adverse impact on the local environment. The Warkworth Continuation Project should be approved for the overall good.

I have worked at MTW for the past 5 years now and rely on my job to support my young family and to pay my mortgage.
With out mines in the Vally a lot of family's will be with out jobs and will have to leave the area wich will have a negative affect on so many other business in the area.
MTW has been operating for 30 years responsibly and I believe still do all they can to minimise the impact on our neighbours. Not extending the life if the mine would be a huge mistake for the whole of the hunter area.

being on the inside i see the amount of work and money that have been spent on this, the company is very comitted to the social and environmental side of things. if the department say they have met all the requirements it must be approved.
the loss of jobs and financial loss to the valley would be enormous.

I support the Warkworth Expansion. This mine makes a substantial contribution to the local and surrounding communities and its loss would be devastating to these areas.
I have personally witnessed quick reactions of staff and management to mitigate any potential negative environmental concern to its neighbours.

I used to work at MTW but was made redundant in 2013.
The fact that this mine and this state is being held back by 20 stubborn hillbillies is absurd.
The mine still employs 1300 people directly and many more indirectly.

The govt should be stepping in to promote mining and industry to get NSW back on track.

Most of the 20 objectors moved to bulga after the mine was in operation. You must expect expansion and progress, you
Can't close your eyes and assume there will be no change ever.

It is absurd that the expansion was rejected last time. This new submission meets the criteria and provides for an environmental offset.

Approve this submission before more families go through the distress that my family had last year when the verdict came down.

My name is Paul, and work for rio tinto at mount thorley warkworth, I have lived in the area all my life, I have a wife and three kids, and we depend on this operation moving forward so our family has a bright future,as do many others, from my co-workers and there family's to the suppliers that provide for the mine and the community's that we live in that rely on the income and business we provide,
If this mine scales back or closes as a result of this expansion being denied, people will have no choice but to leave the area which is not a good outcome for our community's or the hunter,
Nsw mines work under the strictest conditions in the world and have been part of this area for many years that have provided billions of dollars to our economy and have pulled our country through the hard times,
I really hope common sense provides a positive outcome,
As to many people have already lost there jobs,
