Our community can not afford to loose any more jobs. This is people's lives were talking about, I have lived in singleton my whole life and have never seen things so bad. There's houses for sale and rent everywhere you look. People are literally standing on the highway with sighns begging for work.on the Internet there's pleas of people begging for work trying not to loose there homes cars and belongings, trying to make ends meet and to support there families. But at the moment there is no work. If these mining projects don't go through I really hate to see what happens to our community and the lives of the people in our community that's affected. I honestly don't no how this town will recover.
I pray these mining projects go ahead, not just for the future of this town but for all the employees lives that will be shattered if it falls through!

This is important for the hunter region that this gos ahead the loss of 1300 jobs would be devastating not only for the workers but the whole region would suffer as it will have huge flow on effect to other smaller industries who depend on miners and the mining industry to survive.

I'm an employee of Mt Thorley Warkworth mine and believe that if the extension isn't granted we will see mass unemployment in the Hunter Valley Region. Its not only mine workers that are effected it's the support industries that will be effected also. Ever Hunter Valley community will be effected as people will not have adequate incomes to sustain other community businesses. There isn't any other industry that could absorb all the people unemployed if Mt Thorley Warkworth mine was closed. Those people who are protesting against the extension appear to me to be people who have moved into the Bulga area and are wanting mining closed down so they can enjoy the country environment, disregarding the fact that the mining industry has been in the Hunter Region for generations. I believe both the Bulga community and Mt Thorley Warkworth mine can co exist together if both parties are willing to give and take without loosing sight of the fact that the Hunter Valley mining industry is the major industry of the Hunter Valley. Therefore we can ill afford to loose Mt Thorley Warkworth mine as it is a major employer and contributor to the local economy.

As a member of the local community and an employee of the coal mining industry I fully support the MTW extension application.

I have investment properties in the area and have recorded a significant drop in it rental return since the downturn in the mining industry. The flow on effects of the recent mine closures in the area have been negative, numerous and significant. The effects of 1300 positions directly lost and who knows how many jobs in the support industries is almost un-imaginable.

The Warkworth Continuation Project has my full support

My job and my family depend on this expansion going ahead at MTW. Without it, the mine will scale back and eventually close, putting the jobs of everyone there in Jeopardy. The mine has been here for a long time. Most of the people that are opposing the mine have came after the mine was opened. Its like moving next to an airport then complaining about the airplanes... A lot of the people that are complaining benefit from the mine directly or indirectly in one way or another. Singleton and most of the hunter valley will turn into a ghost town without this mine. Prices of real estate will plummet, the flow on effect will be massive as so many businesses and suppliers rely on MTW for their income also.

Keep mining strong in NSW. There had been too many job losses already in the Hunter Valley.

Singleton depends on mining in more ways then one and needs the warkworth extension to go ahead otherwise singleton and all small businesses will suffer and go under.
