The use of the over metro site at crows nest for high density high rise
housing does not bring the diversity of uses into the area or provide
scope for the employment, recreation, health services or entertainment
services that so much needed by the population on the lower north
shore.
The emphasis on residential dwellings is driven by the high value of
residential lots and is the kind of over development the local
population has already turned against. The density is too great, the
pressure t0o much and the quality of life and residential amenity of
the area is being significantly degraded.
Even if residential tower blocks were built with the ostensible
purpose of housing genuine residents, there is no guarantee that they
would remain so. In popular locations close to transport, private
investors are converting residential dwellings into short term holiday
letting. The Local Council no longer has the power to preserve and
protect residential areas or to prevent the conversion of residential
lots in a strata scheme from being converted into short term letting
for holiday makers, visitors. The likelihood that residential
apartments built in the area being affordable for any average income
earner is even less likely, in fact, it is next to zero. The
residential towers will do nothing but bring more people, less
diversity of uses and are unlikely to add to the quality of life of
the residents and votes of this area.

I want the buildings above the Crows Nest Metro station to support our
designation as a Health and Education Precinct and bring more jobs
into the area, enabling us to meet the jobs target set by the Greater
Sydney Commission.
I object to a change in planning controls for this site.
I object to building any high rise residential towers on this site.
Residential developments do next to nothing to bring jobs and business
to the area.
I object to any building on Block C.
I object to any parking on this site. We want the area to be as CAR
FREE as possible.
Rather than residential buildings, this site must continue as a vital
employment and business generating retail/commercial/service district
without the encroachment of residential development which does nothing
for jobs or business.
I want the buildings above the Metro to be part of an education hub.
These buildings could contain things like: a high tech technology
park; TAFE that specialises in technology, hospitality, cooking and
the film industry; a comprehensive, non-selective high school; a
selective technology high school; a language school; a music school; a
drama school; a dance school, a barista school and a culinary
institute.
I want the buildings above the Metro to contain services and
activities that maintain and improve the health of the community:
medical services; alternative health care; recreational spaces; a
performance space; movie theatres; a new community centre; more
childcare; a start-up hub and serviced offices.

Hi,
I'd like the space above the crows nest to be for the community. Ideas
include a primary and/or high school, a community area (something that
I found really lacking was a free community space for mums to meet
while I was on maternity leave- Ernest place is often too wet from
rain or a dust bowl and on a rainy day you can't really all crowd into
a cafe especially when some mums aren't drinking coffee yet due to
breast feeding). It really bothers me that there aren't community
areas to sit and write. There are no comfortable tables in the whole
area (unless you count the picnic tables but the gaps between the rows
of wood make it really hard to write and you don't always want to sit
out in the cold or heat.
Any other things like tafe or learning centres, work share spaces,
mens/womens shed for woodwork and other crafts, place for boardgames
and card games, rooms for personal meetings and tutoring, drama
school, dance school.
I would also like there to be an easy part on the street for getting
into ubers or taxis or kiss and ride, as you need sometimes to get off
one mode of transport and directly onto another.

As a resident of the HOUSE NAME, NUMBER STREET, Crows Nest. I object to a
building that is 27 stories above the Crows Nest Metro station.
I will lead to loss of privacy, loss of outlook, loss of sunlight.
Subject us to noise of aircon from the building. Subject us to noise
of delivery trucks services this 27 stories building.
The distance between the two buildings will not be sufficient enough.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Buildings above the Crows Nest Metro station would be ideal as a
variety of commercial venues such as health, technology hub, education
centre and shared professional office spaces. The Crows Nest Metro is
an ideal transport hub and encourages people to use public transport.
This will bring more jobs into the area, enabling us to met the jobs
target set by the Greater Sydney Commission. I strongly object to
building any high rise residential towers on this site. Residential
developments will only put pressure on street vehicle parking and
create traffic grid lock.
Looking at the bigger picture, there is concern about future
residential developments that will eventually happen in Berry Street,
further along the Pacific Highway and beyond.
Infrastructure Australia have made comment that schools are failing to
keep up with residential growth.
I object to any building on Block C. This should be an open and
attractive space. Objection is still made on spot rezoning.
Over-shadowing is not for a happy environment.
Hope my viewpoints will be taken into consideration.

1. I object to the visual impact and dwarfing effect that the proposed
buildings will have on Crows Nest and Wollstonecraft. The low-rise
suburb will feel `hemmed in'
2. I object to the overshadowing of Nicholson Street, Hume Street
Park, Willoughby Road and Ernest Place in particular.
3. I object to inadequate setbacks.
4. I want to ensure there are generous setbacks at ground level and at
podium level.
5. I support wider sidewalks and tree lined streets.
