The mine is great for my family and the community in whole. Without the opportunity’s the mine has given me, I wouldn’t be able to put back into the community myself through community sport and businesses.

Our community is dependent upon the earnings and investment provided within the community by contractors, trades, farmers, retailers and the professional disciplines, but especially the commitment mining makes to the area. Coal is a part of life here in the Valley, it has provided base load power and employment security to industry, business and our residential communities for generations, it has many uses and ultimately is a safe and stable energy platform haven proven it-self over history as such and is still being extensively used throughout the world.
In uncertain times a sovereign nation needs to ensure capability and capacity are secured, HVO North is not a new mine, and this expansion will continue to serve the people of The Hunter Valley and NSW.
During this period of history coal remains a contemporary sovereign security asset for the people. Glencore and Yancoal have both shown their willingness to abide by the strict and arduous rigour of the Industry Regulator. These are responsible companies who believe in our prosperous future and should be supported for their investment in our Industry, hospitals, schools, universities, and community assets such as sporting, social and welfare organisations and their community programs.
I support the approval of the HVO North Open Cut Continuation Program.

I support the HVO North Open Cut Continuation Project as this is vital to the local and national economy, supporting jobs and indeed life itself. The continuation project will provide financial security for my family and thousands of others, throughout not only the Hunter Valley and NSW but other Australian States and Territories as well.

Energy and Met coal is essential to support humanity. I fully support renewable energy and that is the path for the future, however, at present, both locally and globally, the infrastructure doesn't exist to allow full transition. Heating, cooling, refrigeration, energy supply are the building blocks for modern life both at personal and commercial levels. If Australia doesn't meet these needs others will and the other coal available is not mined as efficiently nor of the same equality. The land is rehabilitated close to natural formation and with some additional assistance of regenerative methods can exceed natural formation. A transition takes time and only those with sufficient GDP can care for the environment. I understand the desire to not proceed, the basis of opposition is from a moral place but with blinkers, ultimately, the agenda is anti human. Once renewables can and have replaced what coal currently achieves, then yes, I would agree, but for now, locally we need this, globally we need this. Morally, I must support my fellow and this project.
