RE: SUBMISSION CASUARINA TOWN CENTRE APPLICATION NO MP 06_0258 mod 10
I am a Casuarina resident and I strongly object to the modification request to amend the Casuarina Town Centre Concept Plan for the following reasons:
* The overall proposal conflicts with earlier planning permits.
* This is clearly a move by developers to make more money and provide fewer amenities to the local community
* I purchased land in 2013 and built a home based on planning approvals at the time which required 36m to 20m for landscape buffering and would not include a trafficable road
* I object to construction up to four levels and wish it to remain at the currently approved three levels
* The extra height of the buildings and reduced public area e.g. reduced walkways will negatively impact on the look, feel and character of the Casuarina area and reduce available community space
* The introduction of a traffic road within the 20m buffer zone is contrary to the original planning intent and purpose
* The creation of a trafficable road will increase local noise, light spillage, security concerns and decrease landscape and visual buffer
* There appears to be inadequate parking which may result in cars parked in local residential streets and blocking them
* I am amazed that there is no provision for a surf club. The beach is dangerous and people will swim there and drownings are inevitable
