As we are all aware the current approval between the current residents on the northern boundary and the proposed town centre is for a 20m wide landscaped pedestrian / cycleway easement.
This open space is approved from the beach front to Casuarina Way as detailed on the attached plans (Fig DA44 and Landscaping Plan)
This open space corridor contains a 3m wide footpath which is the main pathway from the beach to the town centre shopping area.
The alternate route is via the Main Boulevard which runs through the centre of the town centre. These pathways will be filled with shoppers, retailers and pedestrian making it extremely unsafe for cyclists etc travelling from the beach to the shopping centre.
The current proposed plans have not only decreased the open space to 10.5m wide but have also DELETED the extension of the open space and pathway to Casuarina Way behind Santai (see attached marked plan).
Instead the proposed Building A area has been increased in area and height which is totally unacceptable and against the current approved plans and height restrictions.
Instead of a safe footpath to Casuarina Way behind the congested Main Boulevard, the footpath will now direct all pedestrians and cyclists onto The Main Boulevard with all of the other pedestrians etc making it extremely unsafe for all.
It is critical for the residents of Casuarina that this open space / footpath is maintained from the beach to the Casuarina Way to provide a long term safe pathway for all users.

The new proposed constructino greatly reduces the easement space and thus green footprint.
The new proposed construction heights greatly increase visibility pollution and overcrowding for people who have bought, built and live in an area where their understanding of the future plans for the area are now negatively different.
The reduced road widths, increased housing density and insufficent parking in a current community full of children markably increases pedestrian hazards.
