I am in support of the proposal as coal mining is the lifeblood of the Hunter Valley. It is one of the oldest industries in the valley and continue to ensure the survival of several Hunter Valley towns. Without the coal mines the flow on affect to these towns would cease and in several cases the towns would no longer be able to support themselves.

I support the ongoing mining of coal at HVO as this injects much needed funds into the community as well as state. Without the continued mining of coal, we will be faced with a reduction in manufacturing as coal plays a vital ingredient. There currently is no sustainable alternative for24 hour production of electricity.
If the project does not go ahead there will be 1500 people directly affected with job losses and thousands of people indirectly affected, those small businesses that rely on the mining industry to survive will shrivel up and their employees will be unemployed.
Therefore, i support the continuation of hunter valley mine

HVO is an existing mine not a new one. It already employs a large number of local people and supports a large number of local businesses.
To deny the continuation of this mine site would have a dramatic negative effect on a huge number of local people and businesses.

Continuation of mining at HVO are the boosts in jobs, wages and community funding that HVO make to local towns and regions.
My family and I rely on HVO for my income.
As the footprint of the mine isn't actually changing, I can't see why there should be any reason not to approve the project.

As a current employee of HVO, I support the continued operation of the mine. HVO provides me with stable employment and income that allows me to provide my family. HVO’s continued charitable works help the community, especially those most in need such as Singleton Family Support, Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.

This project provides employment not only in the hunter region, but all around the Sydney region.
The continuation of the HVO site is vital to my employment and families viability.
The HVO operations have contributed to the region via local support and community events which would have not been possible with out them.
Our families should mean just as much as the others in the country.

I would like to express my support for the project.
The importance that HVO has on the local jobs and economy through local businesses cannot be understated especially with other large employers in the area like Liddell Power Station planned closure in the near future.
The relocation of Lemington Road and removal of Moses Crossing is a big win as the road has been closed for the majority of the last 12 due to flooding or road conditions. So also is the consolidation of the final land form to a single void north and south for the long term land usage.
I hope that the full socioeconomic factors are considered in your assessment and that the project is approved.
Yours Sincerely
James Murray.
