I support this project because it is my livelihood. My partner and I would have to seep up and move to survive if this doesn’t go thru. The town I grew up in, Singleton, will cease to exist.

Between now and 2050 the mine is expected to emit a total of 1.2 billion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, should the continuation project be approved.

The project supports local jobs and businesses. It is not expanding into new areas, so this mine should allow to continue to help with affordable energy.

HVO supports many local businesses and for the amount of jobs supplied permanent and temporary that if it was to not move forward the impact on the hunter valley economy would be major. As a person that used to work on the site I had witnessed a high level of commitment to the safety and support of its workers, contractors and local community
