The developer wants to destroy a huge amount of vegetation and trees
along Aarons Pass Road. Its EIS for the project provided for initial
approval identified only a small impact on trees and vegetation along
the road. The difference from what was approved and what it now wants
is massive.
Either it was grossly negligent or it willfully misled the PAC about
the environmental impact along the road. The Environmental Planning &
Assessment Act makes it an offence for a developer to "provide
information in connection with a planning matter that the person
knows, or ought reasonably to know, is false or misleading in a
material particular."
Thus there are reasonable grounds for suspecting the developer
provided the Department and PAC with information which it either knew
or should reasonably have known was false or misleading. The
Department needs to conduct a thorough review of what the developer
has done about this
matter and if false or misleading information was provided in the
original proposal, then the Department needs to take legal action.
If this modification was approved, it would mean the developer had
fraudulently gained approval for the project by providing false or
misleading information and then expected the consent authority to
rubber stamp that approval and allow the developer to do environmental
harm which it initially denied would occur.
The modification should be wholly rejected.

The World Health Organization has recently released wind farm noise
guidelines showing that wind farm noise causes harm to health.
Department of Planning & Environment noise guidelines are more
accommodating to wind farms than those now released by the WHO.
The developer intends to use larger turbines and longer blades than
originally approved, but has not requested approval for them.
It must be required to place a formal modification request for larger
blades and turbines and noise impact must be evaluated consistent with
the new WHO guidelines and not DPE's lax guidelines.

I wish to show my support for the proposed road upgrade for the Aarons
Pass Road.
I am aware that the upgrade is funded by and will benefit of the wind
farm, however I believe that this upgrade will be very beneficial for
any users of this road, less dust, less wear and tear on vehicles, as
well as much safer for the road users.
I have driven this road regularly and I do not believe that the
upgrade of Aarons Pass road, or of any country road can be a negative
prospect.

The crudine ridge wind farm is and will be a huge benefit to the local
region with workers in Mudgee and local farmers.
With the bigger turbines it reduces the foot print of the project and
produces more power.
These projects have more positives than negatives.
The farmers have a constant income and with the big drought this year
it would be handy.
Like the Liverpool Range wind farm
Which I am involved in it benefits every one
Thanks Matt Wesley

Hi there,
As a local business owner of The Kandos Fairways Motel NSW only 25
kilometers away, we really need to see this project continue, we have
been lucky enough to have 3 permanant contractors staying with us for
the last 3 months, not only is this great for our motel, its the flow
on effects, The contractors shop at our local
supermarket,Butcher,Bakery use our service station and rent
houses.Once this project ramps up we can afford to employ a part time
cleaner, with a population of just 1000, Kandos really needs to get
this Road upgrade done as soon as possible.
The upgrade to Arrons pass road is definately needed as it is unsafe
and i believe alot of people will travel on the road once the windfarm
is built , Lots of Locals, tourists would like to view it.
So its a YES from me and the KANDOS FAIRWAYS MOTEL, you have our full
support!

I support the application. The larger turbines generate more power with
less physical footprint. Using the most up to date technology is
clearly the sensible thing to do.
The road upgrade is necessary and will be funded by the wind farm.
Like all wind farm projects, it brings jobs and rental income into the
local community. The community payments benefit all locals.
Clean efficient energy benefits all of Australia and the environment
in particular.

I am writing in support of the proposed modifications to the Crudine
Ridge Wind Farm. I am a neighbour to the Gullen Range Wind Farm. I do
not host a wind turbine, yet I am not bothered by the sound or sight
of the near by wind farm which is only 1.2 km away. I also experience
the benefits of having a local wind farm through improved roads, tree
plantings, clean energy program, community fund, and general increase
in local economic activity.
It is terrific that this wind farm making the most of more up to date
technology that will reduce the over all impact of this wind farm
while increasing the amount of renewable energy they produce. These
larger towers, as there will be fewer of them, will have less overall
impact on the surrounding community and environment, while allowing
for greater outputs of energy. This is an approach that should be
supported.
I am also in favour of the improved upgrades to local roads that the
proposed modification will entail. Good rural roads are very important
to local communities and can make a big difference to local traffic
with reduced wear and tear on vehicles.
I am impressed by the focus on local contracting by this wind farm.
The benefit of this extra economic boost to the town will be felt by
many more than the people receiving direct payments from contracts.
Wind farms provide an economic boost to the entire community.
It is my position that these proposed modifications should be
supported. There will be greater benefits to the entire community with
fewer impacts from the few planned turbines. The increased energy
output is also essential for Australia to achieve the highest levels
of renewable energy production as possible.

proposed upgrade to the Aarons Pass Road.
This will make the road much safer for all users, and give better
access to enable the Windfarm to continue.
The upgrade of the road will benefit all local users and tourists, and
make more employment for locals and contractors.
Renewable energy helps with climate change, and farmers will benefit
by having this infrastructure -the Windfarm- on their land.

I support the proposed modification.
Using larger, more modern turbines increases the amount of clean
energy produced while reducing the impacts on bio-diversity, heritage,
visual, noise and traffic of the project. Total clearing of vegetation
for the project will reduce by 31 hectares.
A smaller project will provide clarity and certainty to the local
community regarding the scope of the project.
The upgrade to the main access road, Aarons Pass Road will be entirely
funded by the wind farm. It improves road condition, visibility,
drainage and passing opportunities, meets council's standards and will
be a legacy for the community for decades to come.
Local benefits
Construction of the project has apparently been welcomed by large
sections of the Mudgee community, with large contracts being placed
with local companies along with recruitment of locals on the project;
Up to 240 people will be engaged during the construction period with a
large number from the local area;
Currently over 50% of contractors and employees are from the local
area.
To date $3 million of contracts have been awarded to local businesses
along with 45 employees now based in the Mudgee region contributing to
the economy through accommodation and retail spend;
Many local subcontractors have increased their staffing and invested
in new machinery off the back of the project;
An annual contribution of $168,000 will be made to a community fund
for local projects and initiatives, totally more than $4 million over
the 20-year life of the project.
Annual income will be paid to farmers hosting wind turbines, no matter
the weather or commodity prices

I strongly support this wind farm proposal and its modification that will
reduce the number of turbines for the following reasons:
1. There will be a reduction on the impact on biodiversity, heritage,
visual, noise and traffic
2. The amount of vegetation to be removed will be reduced.
3. There are strong economic benefits to the local community in terms
of employment on the project and the flow-on benefit to local
retailers and businesses.

matter the weather or commodity prices.
6. Because of the new technology of these turbines, the cost of
producing electricity will be further reduced, which will benefit
local communities.
7. Sydney Airport has signed a memorandum of understanding with the
company to provide cheap, renewable energy.
8. More renewable energy means that our carbon emissions can be

The Ryde Gladesville Climate Change Action Group is a community group of

see strong action to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, reduce our

I object to this modification for this is the same company that misled
the community, the Department of Planning and the PAC Commissioners
when it said the project would not be viable if any significant (12)
numbers of turbines were deleted from the 77. Now they are telling us
by their actions that 37 turbines are viable (if we allow them to
destroy the vegetation along APR). They knew in 2016 that more
powerful turbines with larger blades would be the ultimate
configuration so that rationalization can't be used. Their previous
turbine partners, GE, could have told them at the time about the
turbine model eventually chosen. How often can CWP mislead all
stakeholders without attracting a penalty?
