I support the project for a number of reasons. However the main points would be employment and support of the local economy. As a earthmoving contractor I have under taken rehabilitation and environmental work and have found Coalpac to be mindful of their surrounding environment. I have a strong relationship with Coalpac and hope this will continue into the future.

I fully support the application by Coalpac for many reasons, but the main two are increase in employment and flow on effect to the local economy. As an earthmoving contractor I have worked for Coalpac in the past on rehabilitation projects and have found Coalpac to be very aware of the environment that is around them. I have had a strong relationship with Coalpac and I hope this will continue.

I wish to register my objection to this application for the following reasons.
I believe that a better balance can be found between the mining industry and other industries in the area. This includes keeping the mines underground. This would create both long term and short term economic benefits.
Open- cut mines in this area, are as previously acknowledged by the Department of Planning and Infrastructure , not consistent with the natural landscape.
There are health concerns regarding the residents of Cullen Bullen. Anecdotal evidence should be given more merit.

I fully support mining in the Lithgow and surrounding areas. The employment mining creates and the economic benefits are vitally important to this area. The Cullen Valley project needs to be approved to help sure up a strong future for the families that rely on mining for an income.

I support the extension to the Cullen Valley Mine as outlined in the EA. The modification has amended the original proposal to accommodate potential adverse impacts to the environment and to the community.
The Lithgow and district community has been hit hard by the recent mine closures which have a direct impact on the mine workers and their families but also on the broader businesses and their families.
The mine was managed and operated by appropriate mine operators, in accordance with the consent until it closed at the end of the project approval. Many of these people have taken casual jobs away from the Lithgow area.
Coal mines in NSW are managed by staff who have professional qualifications and who are more than capable of complying with the EA and any additional conditions of consent aimed at mitigating any adverse impacts.
This is a small mine compared to those in the Hunter, Mudgee and Gunnedah areas and the impacts, both positive and negative are smaller and localised. Smaller operations are more responsive with key personnel working at the site.

I object to the destruction of part of Ben Bullen State Forest by open cut coal mining, and damage to geological features,
including pagodas and cliffs, by highwall mining.
Digging up and burning cheap poor quality coal is bad for the atmosphere, producing more greenhouse gases.

I object to this proposal on the grounds of damage to Ben Bullen State Forest (botanical and geological features) for the purpose of extracting cheap poor quality coal, which when burnt will create more toxic greenhouse gases in larger volumes.
Destruction of native forest will destroy endangered plants in the area, and reduce the habitat area of the fauna.

I object to the destruction of Ben Bullen State Forest by coal mining.
Native flora and fauna are more important (especially where rare or endangered) than extra-poor quality coal, which when burnt produces toxic greenhouse gases, which is bad for the people of Cullen Bullen, the Lithgow area, and the whole planet.
Coalpac also damages geological features which could be a major tourist attraction in the area.
Coalpac's past rehabilitation has been pitiful, in quantity and quality.

We need more industries like tourism in these areas, and less coal mines.
Burning the toxic poor quality coal from the Coalpac mines is not good for the aim of reducing greenhouse gases in the quest to reduce global emissions.
