I support the proposed modifications being submitted by Coalpac.
The local economy needs this project, and the environmental systems and controls being utilised by the company and being proposed for introduction provide an extremely high level of protection for the local community.
The reduction in area proposed also provides further assurances to the local community.

I strongly support this project. Coal mining in this region is not something new, with the region being what it is today due to a long mining history. With the recent closures due to the prolonged planning application process, many people lost employment and the flow on effects in the area have been felt. Cullen Valley Mine should go ahead to boost the local economy and ensure continuity of the local power station. There will always be people against mining and this project, however the mine has strong rehabilitation performance, environmental controls in place and overall poses greater opportunity than risk. Give this region a chance to prosper

I fully support the submission for the approval for Cullen Valley coal mine & hope you approve it , because my husband & son lost their jobs late last year & now they have to work away from home which is devasting to our family.
Local business in our town also need the approvals of this mine as they are feeling it as well , not only but the cost of electricity prices that will increase & this will hurt many people as they will find it very difficult to pay their electricity bills in the oncoming winter months a head.

The economic affect the mines closure has had on the local area far outweighs any potential environmental impacts. People have lost everything and continue to suffer due to lack of jobs in the local area. The new submission address all of the issues raised by in the first one and more. And it will bring a much needed boost to the local economy.

I have become aware of plans to allow the expansion of coal mining into the part of Ben Bullen Forest, and adjacent to the Gardens of Stone national Park. This high level interference with the natural beauty of the area is akin to vandalism.
Coal mining is at best a hugely destructive process, with very poor record of responsible or successful rehabilitation of landscapes. There is no way that the fragile sandstone pinnacles and other beautiful formations could ever be restored.
Please do not permit this mining to go ahead.

I have lived in the Lithgow region my entire life and can clearly see the economic impact the mines closure has had on the town. The new submission will create over 254 jobs, rehabilitate the area and provide a much needed economic boost to the local economy. The submission addressed issues such as dust and noise whilst also providing a strong economic boost to the area. I strongly support the proposal.

Once these areas are destroyed, that is it, the flora and fauna cannot be returned fro future generations. This is unique and beautiful country and to allow it to be destroyed for short term monetary gain is appalling to put it mildly.

It is with great distress and concern that I learn of the project for Mining, Petroleum and Extraction - Application Number DA 200-5-2003 MOD 2 has been put forward by the NSW Government.
I have grave and real concerns for the beautiful land and landscape in which you would like to do mining. I don't want to see the industrialization of our landscape. We cannot put back what nature has created. This money would be better used in leading the way in renewable energy.
There are so many diseases connected to mining - the science is there; the reports are there. Please do not go ahead with this short-term gain project.

I strongly object to the extension of this coal mine. The fragile ecosystems that exist within the sandstone environments will be destroyed and this precious habitat is already under huge pressure.
Coal mining is highly destructive to the environment and to our air quality. It also uses vast amounts of water that should be conserved for drinking water in this drought-prone country.

I oppose this expansion.
Expanding coal mines is contributing to ruining the planet we live on.
The immediate losses of wildlife, wilderness, ancient rock formations, indigenous sites and flora that provides peace and clean air are all intrinsically valuable an should be protected.
Additionally to them, on a more global scale, the mining, transportation and burning of fossil fuels is contaminating the systems humans depend upon to live - clean air, clean water, clean food.
Fossil fuels must be left in the ground if humans are to minimise the catastrophic effects of climate change.
