MOD 3 - Pit 8 Extension

I think the extension is a great idea to help further boost the area. Being a mining region, without the mines, the region will die off. Tourism and wineries are not enough to keep the region going.
The mines are keeping people employed, hospitals funded and heavily assisting in improving infrastructure

I am submitting on behalf of Rotech Australia Pty Ltd, who act as a critical supplier for Wilpinjong Mine with our support for their Pit 8 Extension proposal. The criticality of mining in the Australian economy is constantly being understated and it's companies such as Wilpinjong that ensure resources are provided for electricity generation and many other applications. The scale of their operations support many communities and businesses that rely on them as a customer and are a critical part of the country's economy. Rotech Australia is providing their support based on the above and want to see this project's approval due to the undeniable benefit it will have on the economy.

Wilpinjong is home to me. I believe we have a great opportunity to support NSW while we continue to improve the environment, returning the land to better than before we mined.

Keeps jobs In the local area.

I have been incredibly fortunate to the spend the last 12 months employed at Wilpinjong Coal Mine through Peabody.

My employment has provided me a considerably generous income. I have thoroughly enjoyed living in Mudgee and believe the economic contributions of Wilpinjong are critical to maintaining Mudgee's (and wider Central West NSW's) economic prosperity.

My partner and other family and friends are employed at Wilpinjong Coal Mine and I strongly agree with the Project. Not only does it help those directly employed and contacted but also the local community in the region.

I support the coal mining industry throughout Australia and believe it is the way forward. As a local business owner who is self employed for the past 20 years, I have witnessed the coal mining industry proven to be beneficial to the local community, which should be allowed to continue operations.

Great for Employment and prosperity to the local region and is much more beneficial than the supposed green energy eyesores of windfarms and solar paddocks that adourn our countryside.

The ongoing operations not only supports local workers but the 100's of busiensses not only in the Mudgee region but the Hunter region, to not approve this extension will not only hurt the local workers but businesses aas a whole

This is a very simple submission, keep Australian jobs in these very tough times.

Wilpinjong is one of the country’s lowest emitting coal mines and supports more than 160 community organisations through $1.2 million in grants. The modification will also help protect the culturally significant Indigenous sites at the Rocky Hill complex and preserve the Cumbo Creek corridor. Wilpinjong provides more than 700 jobs and supports local contractors.

I work there and strongly support the project

I am writing as an employee of Wilpinjong Coal Mine to express my full support for the proposed Pit 8 Modification Project.

Having worked at Wilpinjong for a short period , I have seen firsthand the mine’s commitment to safe and responsible operations, environmental management, and genuine engagement with the local community. The proposed modification is an important step to allow mining to continue efficiently and safely, while securing ongoing employment for the existing workforce.

The Wilpinjong operation provides stable, well-paid jobs for hundreds of local people and supports numerous regional businesses and service providers. The flow-on benefits to local families, schools, and community groups are significant and long-lasting. Approval of the Pit 8 Modification will help ensure that these benefits continue for years to come.

Wilpinjong has consistently demonstrated high standards in rehabilitation, dust and noise management, and environmental care. I believe this modification can be implemented with minimal additional impact and will be managed to the same high standards that the mine has always maintained.

In summary, I strongly support the Wilpinjong Pit 8 Modification and respectfully ask the Department of Planning to approve the proposal. The continuation of the mine’s operations is vital not only for employees like myself, but also for the broader stability and growth of our local region.

I have provided legal services to the Wilpinjong Mine since before mining commenced in relation to property and, recently, biodiversity matters. I understand that the proposed modification will provide considerable community and environmental protection benefits, in addition to allowing for operations to continue until late 2033.

Peabody Wilpinjong provide a lot of jobs to the community of Mudgee and beyond, they are a great company to deal with and support a lot of community activities with donation or sponsorship. This project will help keep jobs secure. I have personally worked onsite at Wilpinjong, stayed weekly in the town of Mudgee and supported the local community and vineyard region whilst travelling their frequently.
