I support the wilpinjong pit 8 extension, as it will provide 700 jobs.

It brings huge benefits to the region

I strongly support the Wilpinjong coal extension because it will give my family and I job security and also continue to benefit the Mudgee community into the future.

I strongly support the proposed Wilpinjong Mine Extension. I have worked at this mine for many years, and it has provided stable employment that supports both my family and my ability to remain in the local area. The Wilpinjong Mine is a vital part of our community, contributing significantly to local jobs, businesses, and community programs. Its continued operation is essential to maintaining the economic and social wellbeing of our region.

This extension is a very positive application not only for the community that Peabody support through employment and other dund raising services but for myself personally. This project and company has supported myself and gave myself opportunities that I'm very grateful for. The business cares greatly about the environment and everyone involved in this extension.

The community needs the employment

My family and I have just moved to Mudgee as I started at Wilpinjong Mine in March 2025. I fully support the project as it will ensure our ability to reside in Mudgee and not have to look for work elsewhere and potentially move again. Our two children attend school in Mudgee and we intend to start building a house in the next few months. The mine brings a lot to the community through its own financial support, the wages it pays employees, contractors engaged on site who employ other residents from our region. Mining is the largest contributor by far to the economic resources of our community and we would suffer without it.
The approval of this project will ensure that my family and I can stay in Mudgee and build a future, my partner works in Aged Care in Mudgee and it is mining that brought her here to contribute to the wider community in this most vital of roles. I have witnessed firsthand what happens to mining towns (towns whose largest contributor is mining) when mines close and it's never a good result, people leave town, housing prices fall and then more people leave and businesses close. This extension is very important to my family and I, all of the employees and contractors at Wilpinjong, Peabody Energy Australia, customers of AGL (Wilpinjong supplies 25% of coal for NSW power generation), the town of Mudgee and our region.

I support this project

Wilpinjong is a well run and situated mine that provides value to the whole Western region. It also underpins businesses in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, including my own business. I employ people and spend money with other NSW businesses due to the business that Wilpinjong provides us. Wilpinjong is a vital customer to our engineering business and a loyal customer for the last 17 years.

I support the extension of this mine as its benefits the mudgee community and provides 25 percent coal front going towards power and supports community and is very good company when it comes to environmental care and rehab

I strongly support the proposed modification to Wilpinjong Mine, as I rely on my wages as an employee and they do great things with community contributions and injecting money back into the local area.

I support the extension

I support the extention. I do not support woke albos scam to transfer to renewables that he claims will be cheaper, but have sent energy prices through the roof.

I believe we need low emission coal to be available to maintain and ensure energy security for NSW. Closing the mine earlier would further jeopardise reliable continuity of baseload power in this state and further degrade economic and societal cohesion, and a prosperous future for the Mid Western NSW region.

I strongly support the proposed modification for Wilponjong Mine as it supports local jobs and the economic benefits it has for the community.
