I support the wilpinjong extension project, I believe wilpinjong coal mine is a great contributor to the local community supporting local events, organisations and local businesses, also helping the local economy employing many locals.

I strongly support the modification for Wilpinjong Mine.
I have lived in the Mudgee area for going on 16 years and I have personally seen the support from Peabody to the local community. It’s great to have a big company supporting events, fundraisers, sports, and local businesses.
This modification will help to continue the commitment and support from Peabody to our local community and the families that live here.
This is an exciting opportunity for Peabody and also for the future of the family and friends that live locally and for further community progression.
I strongly support this and will intently follow the progress.

This ‘modification' proposal should rejected or be assessed as a new project.

Wollar community is preparing to rejuvenate and rebuild including a return of Aboriginal
people through successful land claims. The Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone
(CWOREZ) starts at Wollar being the first approved REZ in NSW. Wollar is the starting point
for the transition to clean energy. There should be no more expansion of coal mining. The extraction of more coal goes against Australia's climate commitments and this extension will contribute to the impacts of climate change.

Key points of objection:
1. Releasing over 25 MT of additional Greenhouse Gas emissions
2. First stage of a bigger mine expansion and should be assessed as a new project
3. Mining to the boundary of Wollar Village
4. Disturbing an additional 155 ha:
● loss of Aboriginal cultural heritage and spiritual landscape for Wiradjuri Nation
● destroying more important habitat for the nationally threatened Large-eared
Pied Bat, Eastern Cave Bat, Regent Honeyeater and Koala with impacts resulting in Serious and Irreversible impacts, which should be grounds for rejection.
5. Permanently altering and degrading alluvial groundwater sources and surface flows
in the Wollar Creek catchment.
6. Increasing pollution through poorly assessed noise, dust, blasting, onsite coal ignition
(spontaneous combustion), lighting and water contamination
7. Increasing social impacts, loss of amenity and ongoing disturbance of rural way of life
8. Slowing the transition to clean energy future – competing with the Central West
Renewable Energy Zone that starts at Wollar
9. This project is not needed to provide regional jobs – there is a huge workforce
shortage for renewable energy projects in the Central West
10. There is no economic justification, the increased climate change impacts will cost
more than public income generated through royalties and taxes

I support this extension. This site is pioneering a safe and green approach to mining. There is a strong foundation of community among the workers and the organisation. Wilpinjong has supported the community and continues to contribute in many ways. Wilpinjong is a key supplier to the NSW power grid as well as providing export product multiple countries in SE Asia.

I strongly support the stage 1 extension to Wilpinjong mine.
This extension is critical for providing economic support and community contributions to the central west region.
This operation has supported me and my friends to be able to live in a place like Mudgee.
Without this job in the future I would not be able to support myself and my family.

I support the Wilpinjong mine Mod 3 project entirely, it is a well planned and provides great benefits to the local and broader community continuing to 2033. The mine and respective project provides massive financial gain to the community of Mudgee. Personally it is a major factor in not only my financial success but my career growth, providing a learning opportunity as a remote technician on a customer site, the work life balance provided at Wilpinjong mine is ideal to my livelihood. Coal mining is a crucial industry in the region and to NSW.

I strongly support the proposed modification for Wilpinjong Mine. This will inject many jobs into the mudgee region where I grew up, where the community has relied on mining for many years. This is important to me as I currently work at Wilpinjong as a contractor and many of my family and friends currently work at Wilpinjong aswell
