I strongly support the Wilpinjong mine extension as it is an extremely important project for the Mudgee region. The economic benefits through community support projects and millions of dollars in wages injected into the area are vital for its long term survival. The mine also provides a large portion of NSW energy coal needs, being of enormous importance to the state as a whole.

Wilpingjong coal mine has a fantastic rehabilitation program providing a great place for our natural wildlife to thrive. Wilpinjong holds a high standard for safety and has a great sense of community.

I have over 15 years Mining experience, underground and opencut. It's no secret that mining does impact the environment, but at Wilpinjong the mining process doesn't go very deep, which allows a more thorough rehabilitation to return everything back to normal. The annual injection of $96,000000 in wages to the workers who live in the region is a very positive thing for the future. I 100% support the extension.
