This project will bring jobs to the community

This project should be supported for the on-going employment of local people and the service communities that rely on Ulan coal mines for contract works, maintenance, overhauls of equipment and services.

Provides important economy to both the region and national economy

Extension will keep employment available which is great for the community.

It will keep employment for a lot of people. My husband works there and my son wants to gain employment there.

I currently work at ulan west and this expansion will keep me in work as i am a local and also my son wants to also work at ulan west too.

I support the proposal as I believe it will be good for the Mudgee and nsw areas for business in the region employing thousands of people and use of local services and goods.

Ulan coal sponsors many community sport clubs in the region which I believe is critical to children and family’s wellbeing. Regional towns need these facilities to be maintained and I believe Ulan coal does an excellent job of supporting this.

Coal is an essential mineral for our day to day lives. From powering our homes, schools, places of employment, to construction and the manufacturing industry.
Mining creates employment, generates billions of dollars annually for our country and puts clothes on the backs and roof's over the heads of hundreds of thousands of Australian citizens.
The expansion will continue to generate millions of dollars and create jobs for the local and state.

Ulan West Mod 8 Continued Operations represents a well-planned extension of existing mining activities that will deliver significant economic, employment, and social benefits to the Mid-Western Region and NSW more broadly. The project makes efficient use of existing infrastructure, operates under rigorous environmental controls, and demonstrates the proponent's ongoing commitment to responsible mining practices and community partnership.
The modification will Secure hundreds of jobs for regional families, generate substantial economic benefits for NSW, utilize proven mining methods and existing infrastructure, Maintain high environmental and safety standards and support community wellbeing and regional stability

I strongly support the approval of Ulan West Mod 8 and believe it represents balanced development that appropriately considers economic, social, and environmental factors.

Approval of this application is pivotal for the future of the local economy of Mudgee and the greater region and also to the economy of the whole of NSW. Not only does current operations provide Jobs for locals (730), Glencore also provides support to local businesses, NFP organisations, charities and sporting clubs…

I am not an economist by long distance, however I would assess, that if there is a market from overseas for coal.. and Australia winds down exports, the demand from over seas will simply buy from another country ( Indonesia or Russia) still resulting in the global impact on emissions, regardless.

I am from the UK and the communities that once were thriving towns due to coal mining are now impoverished places with high unemployment high crime and drug rates. These communities were once filled with salt of the earth hard working people, which was part of the reason they decided to protest to the government that if coal mining was ceased what other industries and
Opportunities would be created to keep these communities wholesome. Instead they were left to decay for 40 years.

I strongly support the continuation of the Ulan West mine through this continued operations submission. This mine is extremely important to our community here in the immediate Mid-Western region of NSW & other regions in close proximity. It provides ongoing jobs for local workers. The Ulan Complex which Ulan West is a part of supports a large number of businesses through its annual spending — much of which stays right here in our region.

Ulan West also contributes taxes and royalties to the government at various levels that then gets spent on essential services like hospitals, schools, roads and emergency services. On top of that the Ulan West mine supports local charities, sporting clubs and important community projects within Mudgee with localised grants.

There is strong demand for Ulan Wests high-quality coal, which is far better than other lower grade coal being mined elsewhere. Keeping the mine operating is crucial for our local economy and for families across the region, given the significant flow-on benefits that comes from Ulan West.

Ulan mine has contributed greatly to the community of Mudgee and surrounds and is essential to the employment of many local people

The extension will guarantee jobs in a regional area as well as providing a reliable affordable source of power for businesses and homes.

Its important to keep strong local employment opportunities for the workforce at Ulan West and the local community suppliers. The project offers stability in the region that is valuable

Ulan West provides employment for many people in the Mid-Western Regional Council area. They support the local community in many forms not the least of which is significant donations to various groups.
Employment from the mine doesn’t only include direct employees of the company, Ulan West uses many local businesses to support the operations.
