External Insulated Facade System

External Insulated Facade System (EIFS) is an insulating wall panel fixed externally to a frame to form a wall system. The panel has a high inherent insulation (R‑value).

BASIX calculates the R‑value of the wall based on the variable thickness of the insulating panel and adds this to assumed values for air gaps and the plasterboard to determine the R-value of the whole wall.
