I am objecting to this proposal. A one year consent will allow people to see if there is any impact on the surrounding community such as noise and environmental issues. Giving a five year consent does not allow for reconsideration of conditions that may need to be reviewed once the recyclers are up and running. Also this area is in a flood prone and near the Georges river and this type of development needs to be monitored to ensure protection of soil and water pH levels given the high alkaline wastewater, dust emissions possibly produced by this type of development.

RESOURCE RECOVERY OR WASTE IN THE MIDDLE OF BEAUTIFUL GEORGES RIVER, MARINA, NEWLY FINISHED HOUSING ESTATE AND NEW ESTATE ON THE WAY. INSTEAD OF HAVING BOATS, CARS AND CHILDERS HAVING FUN YOU ALL WANT IS TO HAVE PAIN OF MORE TRAFFIC AND MORE POOR AIR QUALITY IN THE AREA. IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOVE ONE PLANT AND BE A HERO.

Submission: Modification Request - Moorebank Waste Recycling Facility
(MP 05_0157 MOD 1)
I object to any modification of the Consent for the above facility due to the following reasons:
* An appeal is currently under way objecting to this recycling plant being built in this location.

* The owner, Moorebank Recycling purchased this land in 1998 and has had ample time to plan and execute any changes he wished to make including a Consent Period for any lapse of time. This request should remain as in the Sunset clause in the Liverpool LEP which expires in September 2018.

* In 2005 when this site was nominated as a Major Projects Site by State Planning, there were no residential houses in close proximity. However, currently there are close to 1,000 houses built or near completion in Georges Fair and many more planned in the adjacent estate - New Brighton Lakes.

* The owner of Moorebank Recycling has waited until December 2015 (when Georges Fair has reached its capacity) to request extra time.

* Both PAC and Nexis continue to ignore the 380 new houses and function centre to be built just south of the waste site at New Brighton Lakes Estate. Construction is already under way.

* This is a flood site and yet there will be crushed and uncrushed stockpiles stored. In the event of flooding, it will cause major environmental damage to Georges River and its surrounds.

* PAC in their final determination indicated that access from Brickmakers Drive to the site "will be a challenge." Challenge is an understatement given the amount of traffic currently using Brickmakers Drive and the number of bends in the road. This will not only cause major disruptions to the flow of traffic but potential increase the risk of major accidents.

* Why has approval be given for a materials recycling plant to be built so close to residential areas and the proposed Marina?

* Despite your undertaking to remove the "surprise" factor in the community, we are all `surprised' that such a project could be approved in this location. The residents of Georges Fair, New Brighton Lakes and surrounding suburbs will be negatively impacted by this poor decision.

* I therefore strongly object to any consent being given for the above.

This is ridiculous.
Proposal should not go ahead due to the concerns of thousands of residents who objected to this originally.
Should abide by current restrictions,

Definetly no for concrete recycle that only less than 2km away from the residential houses-pollution issues for kids and adults as well as added traffic congestion
Show that our government care to people voices and welfare rather than individual welfare by cancelling this nonsense concrete project near people homes

I object the concrete recycling plan to be built here at MOOREBANK. This sort of plan should not be placed next to large residential areas. It will pollute the air and have bad impact on our health. There might have other risks and bad impacts on locals life by placing this plan so close to our home.

The Moorebank Recycling Plant has been given the go ahead to operate and crush up to 500,000 tonnes of concrete waste and will spew concrete dust, silica dust and asbestos over thousands of surrounding homes in areas such as Moorebank, East Hills, Milperra, Georges Hall, Voyager Point and Hammondville. It will pour concrete waste into the Georges River which will alter the pH of the water and kill the marine life which in turn will kill off the surrounding environment. It will add HUNDREDS of trucks to the already bulging and overcrowded surrounding streets such as Newbridge Road, Milperra Road, Henry Lawson Drive and the M5. The plant will create 45 jobs but in return thousands of residents will be adversely affected - how is this right??? The plant has opposition from Liverpool and Bankstown councils, State and Federal Governments yet is still proceeding? We need someone to step in immediately and protect the thousands of families who will be affected by this atrocity! Such a business should not be operating only a 280 metres from homes!

To whom it might concern

Im writing to express my opposition in regards of this moorebank recycling plant.Im a resident of georges fair that recently build my house, and yes we are working really hard to have this house for our family, and yet this concrete recycle that will bring lot of negative side for our kids.
Issues with Proposed Moorebank Recycling Plant: Concrete and Building Material CRUSHING:

* Health Hazards - Dust, chemicals in building materials, NO GUARANTEE that ASBESTOS won't enter the site.
* Noise Pollution
* Congested Traffic - specially in Brickmakers Drive and Nuwarra Road at 7.15am every morning and 5pm every afternoon, and yet the recycle has not been done, what will happened if its done?

Moving on from this, the biggest issue I have is with Building a Plant a mere 150m away from my residential homes is something that I cant imagine happening in Australia. all residents of Georges Fair are Tax Payers, we are all Australians, we have a say,we work hard to have a better life and paid tax for every dollar that we earn, additionally with the life of my mortgage we will have paid over a million dollars for our house.I think I have paid for my right to express our objection together with other fellow residents.

I am not against recycling, 10 years ago, this plant might have been perfect in that position but fast forward 10 years we now have thousands of Dwellings, it is a community, it is a Suburb. Human beings live here. It's a young vibrant community, parks for the thousands and Kids who reside there. However 350 Trucks per day will create worrying stage for kids to play around the estate.

Importantly I think Marina would be a great investment for the suburb it self and government to create more jobs, more tourist attractiveness, and support improvement for transport, and no ASBESTOS around the air that will influence our kids's health.

Please do consider this.

I can not believe the Dept of Planning is even considering this submittion. It is a disgrace that such a facility could considered for a residential area such as Moorebank! As a mother of two young children who has working extremely hard for the little patch of Sydney we own and enjoy, what quality of life will we have once this monstrosity is operational? What will the impact of cement dust have on the health of my children and our community? The noise alone will be unbearable....

This facility can not go ahead and must be stopped. Please have a heart, a conscience!!! Do the right thing by the people of Moorebank and decline the approval request.

To whom it may concern:
I am writing to you to show my objection to the recycling plant in Moorebank. My house (as my address is stated above) is very close to the proposed plant site. I am concerned about the level of pollution that such a plant would bring to our community. A lot of us have chosen to live in this location to get away from the metropolitan pollution that exists in major cities. I believe that such a plant should be constructed far away from any residential areas. There is so much scientific research that suggests how harmful it could be on our health and the health of our children. Brickmares drive has already turned into a very busy street such much so that every afternoon cars are banked up from the lights at Nuwarra road all the way till around the roundabout at Conlon avenue! Because of the constant traffic and noise we have decided to move the new Mirvac development at Brighton Lakes. We thought we will be escaping the noise and pollution, only to know that we will be even closer to this monstrous project which will cause even more pollution, traffic and noise! Not to mention the decline in market value of property in our area that this development would cause!
Please consider our concerns and disapprove the development of this recycling plant in our area. Our community needs less pollution and noise not more (especially considering that Liverpool has one of the highest pollution rates in Sydney, and that the development of Badgery's Creek Airport, and the Moorebank intermodal will only add more insult to injury). Thank you for taking the time to read our submissions and for thinking about the health and welfare of our children and frail elderly whom will suffer the most if the development of such a plant were to take place.

I strongly oppose the decision made by the PAC to approve the recycling plant in this location and object just as strongly to the modification to the consent conditions being sought by Moorebank Recyclers. How can they be given a 5 year consent period? How can the community go on waiting and wondering if this polluting monstrosity will go ahead. It is not morally right that the community should have to live like this having their dream suburb destroyed and the health of their families at risk.

This is a joke. It has to be. How can you keep letting this drag on . Residents have the right to live in peace. Not have this hanging over there heads, not knowing if tomorrow this will be approved and their lives ruined, Everyone brought their with the intention of a SAFE and friendly environment for their families. This will definitely not be the case if this goes ahead.
