Modification 5 Bloomfield Colliery Continuation Project

I support the project on policy, economic and social grounds. Bloomfield Mine is a significant local employer which is active in the local community, contributes to the state via coal royalties and payroll tax and to the Commonwealth via PAYG and income tax and to global energy needs via its long term customer contracts. Its employees are local residents and its owners are Australian tax residents. All of the economic benefits that it generates remain within Australia.

The modification process for existing mines was intended to be effective, efficient and relatively low cost for the proponents and for the state with a lower level of investment risk and time uncertainty than that associated with applications for approval for new mines. Given the importance of mining generally and coal mining in particular to the region and to the state, such applications should be strongly supported particularly when the proponent has an established record of integrity and responsibility.

I support this project as it will benefit the economy and local community. It will also improve the final landform of all mining land.

I support this project gaining approval for the following reasons
-continued mining provides employment and economic benefits for the local community.
-there will be ongoing investment in the many community organisations Bloomfield supports through the bloomfield group foundation
-the proposed modification would result in beneficial changes to the currently approved post mining landform

This project presents an excellent economic and environmental opportunity, allowing for an improved final landform that further promotes post-mine land use for cattle grazing.

I support Modification 5 Bloomfield Colliery Continuation Project based on the following information:
• The project's approval will provide continued employment and economic benefits for both the local community and the state of NSW.
• The project will provide tangible social and economic benefits to the local community and positive flow-on effects to regional and State economies through additional wages and royalties.
• The project aims to decrease the size of the final void, as well as increased landform suitability for grazing as a final land use.
• The project aims to address legacy matters and improved long term stability benefits from mining the shallow underground workings in the Workshop Cut which would remove the potential for continuing sink hole issues caused by mine subsidence.
• Optimise resource recovery. The coal resource is a public asset owned by the State of NSW and it is therefore in the public interest to optimise resource recovery.

Worked at the mine for 20years and happy to know to mine supports local people

I believe this project should go ahead to provide ongoing jobs for locals and support the community in revenue

I support the proposed modification as it;

I write to express my strong support for the proposed modification to extend the life of the Bloomfield Colliery until 31 December 2035.
The continuation of operations provides significant and ongoing benefits to the local community, the Hunter region, and the State of NSW. Most importantly, it secures jobs for employees, contractors, and local suppliers at a time when economic certainty and regional employment are more important than ever. This project secures jobs and economic activity that many families and local businesses rely on. It also ensures ongoing royalties and tax contributions that support vital services across NSW—schools, hospitals, roads, and more.
Importantly, this is a low-impact extension. It involves no increase in production, no new infrastructure or equipment, and no expansion toward residential areas. The natural landscape continues to provide effective noise and visual buffering, maintaining the amenity of surrounding communities.

I support the extension as my family work at this mine, revenue that comes from the coal industry helps Australia and this is the last Australian family owned coal mine

My father is employed full-time at Bloomfield Mine and if the Bloomfield Mine gets the continuation we get to live and work here in our local area. I support the continuation project.

My husband works full-time as an operator at Bloomfield Mine. We would like to see the continuation approved so we can continue to live and work in our local Maitland community. I am employed by a Domestic Violence support service which receives funding from the Bloomfield Group. I believe that Bloomfield is a great contributor to local employment, NSW Government taxes and to local community groups.

Support mining to provide people/trades quality of life in paying needs.

I support the continuation of the Bloomfield mine as they are a good Australian company supporting local families like myself through employment & community opportunities created for the Hunter Valley. I have met the Management team of Bloomfield & they Care & Deliver for lots of great community events like Steamfest. Please go ahead & approve this project

This proposal will not only benefit the community during the production phase of the project but many years into the future with new roads payed for by the Bloomfield group and not the public and much better rehabilitation of the site

this company has been a great contributor to the region for many decades it is australia owned and operated and this project is vital for the future of the people employed at the bloomfield mine and the many contractors that rely on the continued operation of the mine . in the 31years i had worked there they have always done the right things for the environment and the land that they operate on .

I would like to support Bloomfield mine in there Mod 5 continuation as it will benefit not only me with ongoing employment ,but also contractors and supply companies servicing the mine. I believe that Bloomfield have done an excellent job sticking to its consent conditions as I have had the pleasure of working onsite over the last 8 years.
Bloomfield supports and contributes to funding NSW hospitals,schools,essential services and infrastructure projects throughout the area.
Bloomfield has proven to be a reliable company over the past 88 years and will continue to up hold its great legacy.
