Northern Coal Services Project

I support the Northern Coal Services project. As an employee of Centennial job security for many employees who at the moment see a lot of uncertainty in their lives is the project is key. Centennial is a major employer in the region. Centennial also engage contractors and suppliers who rely on their contracts with the company to sell their products and employ people. This again flows into our community and provides opportunities. Centennial is very community orientated and supports schools and sporting groups throughout the area. If the project is rejected people will lose jobs and the surrounding community will suffer as a result.

The coal industry is the hub of our local area's economy and we need to make sure it is sustained and have the opportunity to grow responsibly. Centennial has a very good record as a responsible neighbour in our community and I personally rely on them to succeed so I can support my family and all businesses where my money goes in the local area.

Centennial is a great employer of over 500 people supplying coal for our power stations and me and my family are relying on this project.. Thanks

Supporting the Submission

Centennial Northern Logists Project will allow fexability for its northern operations that employ over 500 people. In the current coal global market this fexabilty is important for the ongoing employment within Centennial. Importantly, the Project does not require the transport of coal on public roads and will ustilse existing infrastructure site, minimising environmental impacts.
Centennial's operations have worked closely with, and been part, of the local communities in which they operate by providing jobs, business opportinuties and sponsorship.
The apporval of this project will help support Centennial's employees and their families as well as the broader local communities in western Lake Macquarie. Approval of this Proect is vital.

I currently work at the Delta side of the convayors supplying coal to Vales Point Power Station and i support the project as it would mean added job security into the future for myself and fellow co-workers and other subcontractors

I support as it is a benfit to the local community in terms of jobs for locals & keeping money within the local economy

I have worked for Centennial for the past 25 years. I spend my salary in local shops which helps employment in the community.

In the current economic climate we need to look after jobs now and in the future.

Centennial are very environmentally friendly.

I strongly agree with the proposal put in by northern coal project. Centennial Coal is a local company employing local people. They support local sporting clubs with hundreds and thousands of dollars in donations each year to these clubs. Centennial Coal/ Northern Coal Logistics will continue to employ a lot more local people if this project goes ahead with more than 500 jobs being created. It is a great lively hood for myself and thousands of other men and women across this beautiful country of ours

This is a positive move during a trying time for the industry. This action will have a positive flow on effect for the region and community the project is based in by creating jobs and demand for support and services to support the industry.

Centennial is a local employer and also a sponsor of some local sporting teams. If this submission is not accepted there would be a large number of jobs in the Newcastle area that work in the coal industry and the companies that provide services to Centennial.
This is a vital part of the local community and job security for the Hunter area.

I think this project is one of great value to the local area as it employees over 500 employees. This employment has a flow on effect to the local community in regards to suppliers , local services and community groups that are supported financially through sales and sponsership from Centennial Coal and its employees.

Centennial's Northern Coal Logistics Project is vital to ensure the longevity of a local workforce of 500+ employees and continue to be a major coal provider for local electricity generation. Centennial has a good history of operating coal mines in the West Lake Macquarie area safely, and with minimal impact on the environment and local residents. My employment and families way of life may be impacted if this project is not looked upon favourably.

The Environmental Impact Statement addresses all relevant issues in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
I have been employed within the Mining Industry for 18 years in both the Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie regions. My profession allows me to work directly at operational level or indirectly through diverse project stages of an operation.
I feel it is fair to support an Industry that has provided continued employment for myself, my family and a large portion of the local community.
The Coal Mining around the Lake Macquarie area has been carried out over many years with minimal impact to the Community and Environment
The development consent will allow for continued safe and efficient production and handling of coal in agreement with environmental conditions, Continued Community support, local business sustainability and help generate employment opportunities in various Industry and professional fields.

I am in support of the movement as per above. This movement will provide continued economic stability, employment stability/growth and other linked benefits to the area and surrounding.
If we review the effects on our culture over the last 2 years since the mining industry has fallen greatly, the impacts have been felt far and wide. Commercial products have suffered, Industrial and Construction industries have suffered. We need to support the businesses that are supporting our local culture & local economy.
The links to the effect the mining turndown has had can be felt through to the packets of tim tams you buy from Coles or Woolies.
We need to support Centennial Coal's bid for more reasons than just supporting Centennial. This has been written in support of my local area, my industry, my friends and family. I support this project

The project will continue to support a local workforce (potentially more) if Newstan re-opens.
Centennial have a good track record of operating n our local area with minimal environmetnal impacts.

Centennial Coal provides me consistent and stable employment with which I support mine and my mother's lifestyle. If this propsed submission is accepted it will ensure this dependable income continues into the future guaranteeing our security.

My daughter works at a Centennial Coal site and she is also my carer, if this project gets passed through it will ensure both of our lifestyles remain secure & reduce much stress as unstable employment can be very unsettling.
