The modifications need to be made with consideration of a reduction in thermal coal demand due to a change in power technologies.

We already have poor air quality and a fine coal dust/silt that constantly blows through the area covering belongings inside and out. We don’t need any more being created due to the trucking of more coal through the area.

This project aligns with the Myuna MP10_0080-Mod-2 application and the same objection apply; as was submitted under that project.

Thank you for allowing me to make this submission. I am making this personal submission based on my role Fenner Dunlop and my current continuing employment as it relates to the Fenner Dunlop's relationship with Centennial Coal. I am reliant on that relationship continuing to provide an employment opportunity local to my home here on the coast.
I support the Modified Northern Coal Logistic Hub Proposal SSD-5135-Mod2
My employer Fenner Dunlop is a supplier of Australia made Conveyor Belt and associate site services, and proudly supports the Australian Mining and materials handling industry. The organization also proudly supports Australian made based on our commitment to manufacturing around the country. I and the company, perform regular service and product sales to Centennial at both Myuna and Mandalong.
Given the impact of Covid-19 on a domestic and global scale, more than ever job creation and job securing projects must be a priority. This project I see as crucial to ensuring not only our existing supply of product and service to Mandalong and Myuna mines, but opening up other opportunities for ourselves and other Australian companies both during construction and operation.
Given the impact of truck movements is limited to 10 per hour, and that residents are not in close proximity to the proposed route, the impact on the environment and quality of life of locals would be almost nil in return for increased economic opportunity and support the existing workforce particularly at Myuna Colliery.
My fear is that without this expansion Myuna's Collieries existence would be endangered, and a closure of that pit would have a devastating economic impact on the community.
Thank you for your consideration

I hope the details in this document show a greater level of accuracy than the brief outline "Dispatch of up to 1.0 Mtpa of ROM coal by truck form Cooranbong Entry site (CES) to Myuna Colliery. Receive up to 0.2 Mtpa of ROM coal from Myuna Colliery." I believe the figures should be reversed. I have provided objections to this project on the corresponding Myuna Colliery submission portal, raising concerns about the potential for accidents, road damage, noise and coal dust pollution. I attach a copy of that submission here.

This proposed modification adversely affects, not only traffic increases on Wangi Road, but also the noise implications of blending of coal at the cooranbong pit site for affected residents in Dora Creek. As admitted by Northern Coal in SSD-5145, noise will be increased 9 dB above allowable limits under certain weather conditions. They can not know how often or for how long the residents will have to put up with this increased noise level.

It is a huge safety risk to residents, commuters, cyclists and visitors that use Wangi and Wilton Roads to have coal trucks on these public roads. There is no Social Impact Assessment, which is very surprising as there are over 8500 people living in the suburbs of Rathmines, Fishing Point, Balmoral, Buttaba, Arcadia Vale and Wangi Wangi, who directly use Wangi Road.
The Newstan/ Awaba CCC were not notified of the lodgement this modification.
There is a risk to wildlife.

My objections to this project are connected to my objections to MP10-0080 Mod2 which are directed at the transport of massive quantities of coal by truck on the public roads connecting the Myuna Pit Top with the commencement of the Awaba Private Haul Road.
This project should not allow the receipt of 1Mtpa of coal by road from Myuna Pit Top, nor the backloading of .2Mtpa of Mandalong coal to Myuna Pit Top by road.
My objection is that these 10 truck movements per hour arriving loaded, and 10 truck movements per hour (2 of them loaded) departing six days per week would be posing an unacceptable risk on the users of the public road system.
The proposed route passes through 5 quite difficult intersections through undulating terrain.
I attach a copy of my detailed submission on the related project to support this submission.

I object to this modification on the following grounds:
The proposed truck movements on public roads pose an extremely high accident risk to the traveling public which is not acceptable. If the private coal mine operator wants to transport coal, they have to do so on private coal haul roads or existing conveyors.
I also object to coal of poor quality being burnt in coal-fired power stations in NSW.
