The North Byron Parklands provides substantial economic and social value to the northern NSW region, bringing in millions of dollars to local businesses and in particular, the creative industries. Additionally it is a beautiful, well cared for site that has the potential to become THE go-to site for touring musical artists and smaller community organisations when planning special events. I live in Brisbane but even here the effects are felt by these big events!

Splendour in the Grass is a fantastic festival and brings great energy to the area during a period when it is otherwise pretty quiet. Splendour supports so many different causes in the area and is an important part of our community. The new and improved site has spread the visitors out to suburbs other than Byron and now they too also benefit from the increased winter trade. Lets keep this amazing event in our area where it belongs!

I believe it's important Byron Parklands remains as a location to host some of the most popular festivals in the country. It brings so much tourism to the area and festivals like Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival have become classicaly affiliated with Byron Bay. Why change something that is such a perfect location for these festivals? I am in full support of extending the trial period to provide for Cultural Events in North Byron Parklands.

Despite some small and very vocal local opposition the Parklands site simply must be allowed to continue operating.
I feel compelled to state that this site is a very much needed course of employment for this area. I know many many local people that work on the events there - including myself and members of my family.
It is an important stepping stone for young people wanting to gain experience in the creative industries as well as market stall holders and the many many people that are employed in the hundreds of different roles on the site - before, during and after these events...
Having worked at festivals all over Australia - and the world - I am also of the opinion that the events here are full of artistic content - musically and visually - and represent an excellent location and enviroment for people - young and old - to get together, have fun, experience new experiences, eat amazing food, meet and make new friends and let loose a little....
I have worked on man festival sites worldwide and am of the opinion that the management team at the Parklands site are doing a world class job with an excellent attitude and approach towards safety, inclusive work practices and ongoing sustainability.
They (and we) are all very aware and conscious of the necessity for need for ongoing ecological sensitivity of the area - and I firmly believe that this is being upheld in a rigorous and effective manor.
I ask you to look favourably at the submission before you for an extention to the licence - in the understanding that a denial will cost this area dearly in socio-economic terms..

I am throwing my support behind Byron Parklands and events held here thus far . I have been involved with Byron Parklands since its initial event, both as a patron at events and also as a contractor. The events held at this site provide work to local contractors, local businesses, accommodation businesses , food outlets and so on.
The Parklands also provide valued help and support to local charities, and initiatives for young adults to experience world class events.
It is an asset to our local community.

The events at the North Byron Parklands are a strong part of the community and culture of the Byron Shire. They additionally offer an enormous source of tourism and business for the shops and facilities of the Byron Shire
