Many analysts are forecasting western countries will soon become desperate for energy security and consequently a resurgence in energy generated by hydrocarbons.
Coal fired power is entegral to any energy mix, but nuclear power is the ultimate solution for energy security. As a tiny amount of uranium can produce an enormous amount of p[ower.
Liddell's infrasructure has the potential to be reinstated as a coal fired plant until converted to a nuclear SMR hub at the centre of the poles and wires.
It would be nothing less than geopolitical sabotage to demolish it and forego that potential.

We strongly object to the demolition of Liddell Power station as we have seen first hand the unreliability of renewables and their inability to replace consistent base load power around the clock. NSW has no viable substitute to fill the void from this closure, and it must be reopened, or at the very least, retained for which time it becomes clear that RE generation will not in any way replace the base load power it produced.

To jeopardise our National security by adopting a resource hungry, foreign sourced, unethically produced, toxic and short term replacement, is not only irresponsible, but sheer stupidity when examples abound of other countries that have taken the same path are before us.
