PROJECT DETAILS | Project Address

This information will help you fill out ‘Project address’ in the project details section of the BASIX assessment tool.

For more information on how to fill in the other fields, visit our project details section.

Project name

  • Enter a project name.

The project name will appear on your BASIX certificate. You can enter up to 50 characters in this field.
This field is for your reference only and is not used by the system to locate or identify the property.

Plan type

  • Select the plan type (either Deposited Plan or Strata Plan). This is the legal identification of your lot. It is sometimes shown in the form 1/23456, with the number preceding the '/' the lot number and the number after the '/' the Deposited Plan (DP).
    • Deposited Plan (DP) is the most common option, and defines the boundaries of the parcel of land that the lot is part of, or
    • Strata Plan (SP) is used when the parcel of land is further divided to allow multiple occupancy and separate ownership of individual dwellings, such as apartment buildings and townhouse developments.

Select the property location

There are 3 ways to input the project address in the BASIX tool:

1. Address autocomplete

A selection of addresses will automatically populate.  Select the correct address for your project.

2. Lot and/or plan number autocomplete

Lot and/or plan numbers will automatically populate based on your input. When searching for Lot and DP site details, you must use the format: X/-/DPYYYYYY or 2/-/SPYYYYYY.

This includes entering a dash if there is no section number, and typing the DP or SP prefix before the DP or SP number.

3. Manual address entry

If your project address does not display using one of the above functions, tick the ‘address did not display’ box, and manual address and location input fields will become available.

When the system does not display your address, you will be required to identify the relevant council. This may occur when:

  • the lot to be developed is not yet registered, or
  • the lot is located in two local government areas.

Select ‘address did not display’ when:

  • your property or site has multiple lots and addresses. You can then add multiple lot/DPs manually.
  • your property is located across more than one local government area.
  • your application relates to a larger site previously known by a Lot/DP that has since been subdivided.

Important note: Ensure the project name and address details are correct before progressing as these details cannot be changed once a certificate is generated.
