About Us

The Housing Evidence Centre provides accessible information on key issues that impact the housing ecosystem in NSW. The Housing Evidence Centre provides comprehensive evidence, data-driven insights and important information.

As recognised in the NSW Housing Strategy, accessing, using and collecting housing data and evidence is essential for NSW Government agencies, local government, industry, and non-government organisations, as it drives housing programs, investment, and service delivery. Open access to data is also important for accountability and transparency to the community. Good data and evidence support targeted policy and programs, complex problem-solving, monitoring, evaluating, forecasting and identifying future needs. The Housing Evidence Centre demonstrates some of the ways that DPE uses data to guide its work in creating better housing outcomes for the people of NSW.

The Housing Evidence Centre is themed under the 4 pillars of the NSW Housing Strategy
