The project is highly visual to neighbours, intruding on their amenity and wellbeing. It is in a rural zoning and industrialises the landscape. It presents a a negative impression of Bathurst to visitors as it is located on the main highway into town.
It is not in a Renewable Energy Zone - why do we have REZ's if projects are to be permitted elsewhere. It is poor planning policy.
It is on prime agricultural land which should be reserved for food production. lesser grade land elsewhere is a better use of resources.
It does little to benefit the Bathurst region. In fact its net result is a cost to the region through loss of economic activity associated with high intensity farming.

As a resident of Bathurst since 2003, I would like to support the Glanmire Solar Farm. Solar farms on agricultural land are a highly appropriate way that our region can make a contribution to a low-carbon economy. The land has already been altered or cleared, so existing bushland will not be cleared to make way for this development. The introduction of solar panels will not degrade the land or water. This is a far more appropriate development than the ATCO pumped hydro project at Yetholme which will impact both biodiversity and water flows. This is a great way for Bathurst to make a contribution to renewable energy.

I support the Glanmire Solar Farm Development. It is nice to see renewable energy projects that facilitate the continuation of agriculture production simultaneously.
