I am writing to you to express my support for the Orange Grove Solar
project (SSD 8882).

What better way to support a town currently affected by drought than
to invest in the area and create new jobs. This is exactly what Orange
Grove Solar will do. When a rural town like Gunnedah is hit with a
drought as severe as that of the one they are currently facing, it
takes a long time for small businesses and farmers to recover. In a
time like this, I believe Gunnedah would truly benefit from such a
project.

From what I understand, this Solar Project will provide 100 jobs to
the Gunnedah area. With those extra jobs comes families, and with
those families comes investment into the community. It is often that
cities receive many of the jobs whilst rural communities like Gunnedah
miss out. As someone who had to move to a city myself in order to get
a job, I sure would love to see a rural community receive some support
in this way.

I would also like to express my support for such a great thing as
renewable energy. I know that when it comes to energy producers there
is often controversy around where it is placed as it can be disruptive
to community members through noise or dust. What I love about solar is
that it makes no noise, no dust, and does not visually look that bad.
It is so much so that in Canberra where I live, there is actually a
solar farm of significant size within the city, and to the best of my
knowledge, it does not seem to negatively affect anyone. What is even
better about the proposed solar farm is the site is out of town in a
rural location where farms are spaced out having a smaller impact on
residents of the greater Gunnedah community.

I truly believe that this is a great thing for Gunnedah and comes with
no financial burdens to the government, only benefits. What a great
thing it would be to see a rural community have a helping hand through
localized investment into the community from a large project. I
implore you to help Gunnedah through providing the necessary
regulatory support to the Orange Grove Solar Project.

Yours sincerely,
Alex Swain

(Further support is indicated in the attached PDF document) Renewable
energy is the future, and I believe it is not occurring fast enough,
therefore this project will be apart of a crucial catalyst in the next
steps into an innovative future for not only the Gunnedah community
but also it's surrounding regions.

The Members Of The Namoi Pistol Club Inc. have concerns with the possible
Sun reflection from the proposed Orange Grove Road Overland Sun Farm
Project .

We are lodging an objection to that part of the proposed project that
may impact Competitors on the 900 Metre Firearms Range Firing Line .

The Namoi Pistol Club operates two Firearms Ranges on the rural
property "Marlow" 1355 Orange Grove Road Gunnedah NSW 2380 .

The Namoi Pistol Club's 50 Metre Range is situated East of the
proposed Solar Farm and would be too far away to be impacted by the
Overland Sun Farm Project .

The Namoi Pistol Club's other Firearms Range on "Marlow" is a 900
Metre Range situated to the North East of the Proposed Overland Sun
Farm Project , High up on the side of a hill in comparison to the
location of the Sun Farm Solar Panels. From the elevated position of
the 900 Metre Range Firing Line an estimated 35 to 40 + hectares of
solar panels will be visible from the left of the firing line area .

The planting of vegetation around the parimeter of the Overland Sun
Farm Project will not reduce the impact that reflected Sunlight from
the solar panels and associated framework may have on competitors
shooting from the Firing Line on this ranges elevated firing area .

The Namoi Pistol Club Members shoot Pistol , Rifle and Shotgun
Competitions one day every month on our Ranges and shoot for Four days
in April and August . Our Club has several members who are shift
workers who are unable to attend some Competition Days , so they
practice and sight in on a day of the week that is suitable to them
providing there are at least two licensed shooters present .

The Namoi Pistol Club has been conducting Competition and practice
shoots on "Marlow" since 1997 with an accident free record. Please
find attached Marlow Firearms Ranges Templates over the property
"Marlow" .
