While we are not opposed to the development as a whole and we are not living directly opposite it, our main concern would be:
1) Too much light coming from the site at night interfering with normal night darkness that would be in residential areas and the potential for this is affect people's ability to sleep or enjoy the normal benefits of darkness eg Christmas lights.
2) Ambulance sirens at all times of the day and night. I have read the acoustic report and it says that Ambulance noise is outside of the scope of the report and that they are generally only used when there is heavy traffic, which they don't feel would be the case at night. My concern is that Gregory Hills Drive will become a second Narellan Road once it goes through to Bagdally Road. This will mean increased traffic during the day, at night and on the weekends. How are the developers going to ensure that our quality of life is not destroyed by Siren noise. I don't feel that it is adequate to just say it is outside of the scope. Why can there be a stipulation that Sirens can't be used within a certain distance of the hospital as it is adjacent to a residential area. Surely those kind of regulations exist. If you have ever stayed in a hotel near a hospital and had the ambulances keep you up all night you know how bad it can be but at least you can change hotels. If you have built your home expecting a peaceful neighbourhood and then have a huge hospital built on your door step that affects your quality of life it is much harder to change it. It could also affect the value of your property if no one else wants to live with it either. It is therefore something that seriously needs to be considered and strategies put in place.
3) Excessive traffic.

Dart West Developments is developing the Gregory Hills and Central Hills Business Park projects in the Turner Road precinct of the South West Priority Growth Area.
These projects are in close proximity to the private hospital proposed to be located within Gregory Hills Corporate Park. For clarity, we have no involvement in the GHCP project.
Dart West wishes to express its support for the proposed private hospital. If constructed, the facility would be a welcome addition to the range of services available to residents of Gregory Hills and the wider Camden area.
