By providing state-of-the-art facilities, the Bulldogs’ Centre of Excellence is creating an environment where all individuals can thrive. The focus on school programs is particularly significant, as it encourages greater participation and representation in sports and community programs that have historically been under-supported. This commitment to inclusivity will inspire a new generation, instilling confidence and promoting positive well-being.
As Belmore Sports Ground evolves into a premier sporting venue, it will become a vibrant hub for community engagement and pride. Families will gather to cheer on their teams, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. The Centre of Excellence will not only serve as a training ground for athletes but also as a gathering place for community events, workshops, and educational programs that promote health and wellness.
In essence, the Bulldogs’ Centre of Excellence is a visionary project that will enhance the quality of life for residents, promote active lifestyles, and cultivate a strong sense of community identity. Its impact will be felt for generations to come, ensuring that Belmore Sports Ground remains a cornerstone of community and sporting pride.

● Falls are a major public health issue in Australia. They cause significant morbidity and mortality among older adults, leading to a substantial financial burden on the healthcare system.
● Despite the evidence for effective fall prevention strategies, Australia lacks a coordinated national policy. This highlights the need for collaborative efforts to advocate for policy changes and improved service integration.
● Community awareness about falls is insufficient, and there's a lack of coordination among government bodies and organizations. This leads to fragmented efforts and missed opportunities for effective prevention.
● Ageism is a pervasive issue that hinders progress in addressing falls prevention. Addressing ageist attitudes and promoting a more inclusive society is crucial for effective prevention strategies.
● A well-defined project plan can provide a framework for a unified approach to fall prevention. This includes coordinating efforts across various stakeholders, raising awareness, advocating for policy changes, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
● Supporting a project plan can contribute to improving the well-being of older Australians and reducing the burden of falls on individuals, families, and the healthcare system. It can address the significant public health challenge and contribute to creating a safer and healthier environment for older adults in Australia. It is more like people are promoting TaiChi as a way to help the seniors to foster themselves with better health and well-being, and of course a strong foundation especially the legs to maintain a sturdy balance to avoid the falls.

"The Bulldogs’ Centre of Excellence is a transformative and forward-thinking project that promises to deliver significant benefits to the Canterbury-Bankstown community. As health practitioners dedicated to promoting physical well-being, we fully support this initiative, which aligns with our commitment to providing comprehensive care for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Modern, purpose-built facilities such as those planned for the Centre of Excellence will play a pivotal role in enhancing the health and performance of athletes, particularly those involved in youth and community sports. Access to state-of-the-art sports and rehabilitation facilities is crucial for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall physical health, and this development will create a space where athletes can thrive, both on and off the field.
Beyond supporting local athletes, this project will contribute to the broader health of the community. By fostering inclusivity, promoting physical activity, and encouraging active lifestyles, the Centre will have a positive impact on the well-being of individuals of all ages, encouraging healthier habits and reducing the long-term burden on healthcare systems. The inclusion of modern facilities will also attract health and wellness programs that benefit the wider population, promoting mental and physical wellness within the region.
In addition to its health benefits, the Centre of Excellence will generate significant economic opportunities for local businesses, including healthcare providers, and contribute to the continued development of Belmore Sports Ground as a vibrant hub for community engagement and pride. We are confident that this project will inspire local residents and create a lasting legacy of health, inclusivity, and community spirit.
The Allied Health Clinic is proud to support this project and looks forward to the positive impact it will have on the community’s overall health and well-being."
This version emphasizes the role of healthcare professionals, specifically those in allied health fields, and highlights the direct benefits of the project for both athletes and the broader community. It also underlines the importance of physical health, rehabilitation, and long-term well-being for all individuals.
Kind Regards

The proposed Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Centre of Excellence in Belmore represents a transformative initiative that will significantly benefit the youth of our Local Government Area (LGA). This state-of-the-art facility is poised to become a central hub for educational, sporting, and community development, offering exceptional opportunities for both boys and girls. Through innovative programs and partnerships, the Centre will foster personal growth, enhance life skills, and create pathways to success for the next generation.
Empowering Youth Through Education and Leadership
The Centre of Excellence will be a catalyst for educational success, providing young people with access to cutting-edge programs such as the Bulldogs Game-Changers and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. These initiatives will build upon the club’s existing partnerships with local schools, including Canterbury Boys and Canterbury Girls High Schools, to deliver meaningful educational experiences.
The Bulldogs Game-Changers Program
This flagship program equips high school students with essential life skills, addressing critical areas such as:
• Social Media and Cyberbullying (Year 7)
• Mental Fitness (Year 8)
• Physical Health (Year 9)
• Financial Literacy (Year 10)
• Career Planning (Year 11)
• Road Safety (Year 12)
In addition, the Bulldogs Captain Class will provide enrichment opportunities in leadership, focusing on communication, teamwork, and inclusivity. These programs will empower students to navigate modern challenges with confidence, fostering responsible citizenship and laying the groundwork for future leaders.
Enhancing Community Engagement and Opportunity
The Centre will serve as a vibrant community hub, creating increased opportunities for local youth through:
• Leadership Development: Programs like the Bulldogs Captain Class will inspire students to take active roles in their schools and communities.
• Skill Development: Interactive sessions with Bulldogs players, coaches, and management will provide students with unique insights and mentorship.
• Community Programs: Initiatives such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award will encourage personal growth, resilience, and social responsibility.
By housing these initiatives in one centralised location, the Centre of Excellence will ensure broad accessibility and foster a sense of belonging and pride within the community.
Long-Term Benefits and Generational Impact
The Centre’s programs are designed not only to educate but to create lasting generational change. By equipping youth with practical skills and leadership qualities, these initiatives will promote a culture of continuous learning and personal development. The resulting ripple effects will be felt across families, schools, and the wider community, driving positive outcomes in education, employment, and well-being.
Conclusion
The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Centre of Excellence is more than a sporting facility; it is a beacon of opportunity and growth for the youth of our LGA. Through its innovative educational programs and strong community partnerships, the Centre will play a pivotal role in shaping future leaders and empowering young people to achieve their full potential. This investment in our youth is an investment in the future of our community, ensuring a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow for all.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are one of our most highly valued metropolitan members. They are responsible for delivering and supporting rugby league pathways in their area, from the youngest boys and girls who participate in our game right the way through to the most elite men and women who participate in NRL teams and NRLW teams.
One of the most exciting segments of our game is the women’s pathways which has been growing rapidly in recent years to the point where female participants in our game represent almost 25% of the total playing base. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have been especially strong supporters of development of the women’s game by having teams at all levels of the pathway. In recent years, they have enjoyed considerable success in this regard. What is critical, however, in order to continue the momentum of the growth in women’s pathways, is to provide talented women with appropriate facilities within which to achieve their potential.
The Bulldogs Centre of Excellence will be a game-changer for rugby league in our state, particularly for women’s rugby league. The facility will provide young girls with the chance to develop in a professional environment whilst also ensuring that the Bulldogs can compete at the highest level.
Ultimately, the economic impact for Belmore and the surrounding region will be substantial, providing new jobs and boosting locals businesses.
Moreover, the plan is in keeping with our strategic goals.
For all of the above reasons, we enthusiastically support the proposal for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Centre of Excellence.
