Drayton South should be approved as it was recommended by the Department of Planning in the last submission, and there has been further concessions given in this submission. The foot print of the mine in this latest submission now complies with the recommendation of the first Planning Assessment Commission recommendation. Technical, environmental, and community requirements are allowed for in the Drayton South EIS, which will allow the mine to operate and co-exist with it's neighbours.
Without Drayton South the economy, and the standard of living in the community will reduce as will population, business, sporting clubs, and government services. With Drayton South the Upper Hunter community will be able to continue growing from the benefits of having a diversified industry base built on all businesses coexisting together.
Scott Doran.

Orica is one of Anglo American Drayton's key suppliers, and the mine is one of Orica's largest and oldest customers in the region.
Orica employs more than 700 people in the local Hunter Valley region. If Anglo American Drayton mine is to cease this would also result in a reduction in Orica jobs in the region.
Beyond Orica, the Drayton South application is critical to the local community and economy, not only saving 500 jobs at the mine but also continuing to provide work for the 140 local businessess that rely on the mining sector. Anglo Drayton currently supports local schools and sporting teams as well as local charities and community services. If this application is not approved the community will suffer.
Please accept this submission in support of the Anglo American Drayton South Project
Kind regards
