This bridge will bring the huge advantage to both the Wentworth residents and the environment. Most of the residents tend to shop in Ryhdes shopping centre, but have to drive there now. with the new bridge, we can walk there, saving petro and waste gas summision. Also, the public transport in Wentworth is not good, the new bridge will help us a lot.

So all my family will 100% support this project.

it is an important step towards a real brand new CBD.

the homebush bridge will benefit both rhodes and wentworth point. it allows facilities on both sites to be shared easily, and it promotes more efficient tranport. more importantly, without the bridge, either side is like trapped in its own land and restricted to certain facilities they already have. therefore, with the bridge, both sitess land value will appreciate to a new level which will start attracting residents and investors who use to have their eye focus on eastern coastal or northern surburb. with both site connect via this bridge, the whole area stands a chance for real as the next CBD of sydney. that means more and more economic benefit in the long run.

in my opinion. the bridge is an investment elevates the entire value of both rhodes and wentworth point. and would be pleased to see the project get fully approved to start constructing.

I plan to move to Wentworth Point, but the transport to city for work is limited, therefore I still hold of this. Once this paln go ahead, will be more easier for us, also good for the community,

This is an excellent proposal. Please go ahead as soon as possible.

The only thing I hope for is that there are separated roads and paths for the buses, bikes and pedestrians, so they don't get in each other's way.

The bridge will improve access to Rhodes Railway Station for Wentworth Point residents (including myself). I currently cycle to Concord West daily to commute to the city. The bridge will shorten my cycling time and/or make walking to Rhodes more practical, particularly in wet weather conditions.

I think the bridge should be limited to walking and cycling only. Buses already have access along existing roads, with this bridge an overkill, and the footprint of the proposed bridge is just too large and unsightly due to the need to carry buses.
I think the bridge should be designed with a lighter visual impact, and removing the need to carry buses would make this possible.
Much of the commuter traffic at Wentorth Point is already served by buses and a dedicated ferry port within a short walk. Has an analysis been done as to where the commuter traffic goes? If to Sydney city, then theexisting ferry itself already serves that purpose faster than a bus/ rail trip.

I object to the Bridge over Homebush Bay from Wentworth Point to Rhodes on the following grounds:
1. Maritime has failed to take into account NSW Government and Federal government scenarios for sea level rise for climate change in setting the height of the bridge over the navigable channel in Homebush Bay.
2. The relevant Environmental assessment is grossly deficient in its analysis of the impacts of the proposed traffic flows within Rhodes as a result of the bridge being a public transport link. The routing of the traffic within Rhodes and it's consequent impact on residents, particulalry in shoreline Drive is not dealt with, yet is a direct results only of the bridge being built.
3. The impact of the Bridge on the proposed community centre in Rhodes near Gauthorpe Street will have a substantial negative impact and is not in the interests of the residents of Rhodes The reduction in opens space and community centre will have an adverse effect on the 11,500 residents of Rhodes.
4. The traffic impact of heavy buses in Gauthorpe Street with attendant noise, diesel pollution and risk to resident pedestrians including children is excessive and was not communicated to the purchasers before purchase of unnits in Statewide on the corner of Marquet and Gauthorpe Sts.. Diesel fumes will be particulalry bad at first floor leve and particulate matter is a known hazard for asthma sufferers. The setbacks are not long enough for a street with probably hundreds of buses a day if there is a need to bus children to school at Wentworth Point..
5. Routing of the buses to the Rhodes Shopping centre would require buses to return to the bridge through Shoreline Drive a quiet, narrow residential street at that southern end. No STA size bus can make the corner from facing west to facing north in Shoreline Drive near the shopping centre without crossing double yellow line on a blind corner.
6. The fumes at first floor level in shoreline drive between Rider Boulevarde and the bridge will be adverse to the ehalth and amenity of residents, and more so if hundreds of school children have to be bused to a school at Wentworth Point.
7. The reduction in amenity of users of the Rhodes foreshore pathways and parks because of the levels of the landing of the bridge on the Rhodes side is unwarranted and outweighs any perceived benefits of the bridge

This environmental assessment is grossly deficient even if done in accordance with DG's requirements as it doesn't cover any traffic analysis within Rhodes.

Looking at the very hard to read low resolution drawing of the bridge once again, the maximum clearance under the bridge is about 6 metres. Off centre under the largest span, no more than 5 metres of clearance can be relied upon. No charter boat or ferry will be able to approach Olympic Park. This project will only permit private pleasure craft to access Olympic Park by water.

While TfNSW may have no present intention to run or permit ferry services up to Olympic Park, they may get included in the long term masterplan this year or after the next election.

The bridge will exclude ferry and charter services from Olympic Park for the next century. The height of the bridge can be raised for negligible cost and it will make very little difference to pedestrians, cyclists and buses.

Based on population and household forecasts done by the Auburn Council Wentworth Point will grow from 3,500 residence to 10,500 residents in 2021 and then to 12,600 in 2026 and 12900 in 2031.

Wentworth Point is geographically isolated, with surrounded on four sides by: river, the bay, swamp and wetlands. It is kilometres to nearest suburb and the rail line (a walk that is in the dark at night)

Public transport to the suburb is weak. A bus that stops running after 7pm and a ferry terminal at the distant end of the point.

People, myself included, have been stranded or unable to return home to Wentworth Point. The bridge will remedy that.

From an environmental stand point I support the bridge as the suburb is the sustainable approach to building for the growing population of Sydney. Instead of sprawling further south and north, destroying bushland in the process, Wentworth Point is building up on old factory land.

Also, with a bridge that encourages walking, ride or use of a shuttle bus to get to the train station at Rhodes, we are further decreasing our ecological footprint.

Wentworth Point has the potential to be a shining start for a Sustainable Sydney. Please accept this submission and consider it during the application process.
