As a resident of Greenwich, I am deeply concerned about the increasing industrialization of our area. We already have a similar data centre in close proximity, and the addition of another industrial facility will exacerbate the existing issues. Our neighborhood is becoming increasingly dominated by industrial buildings, which is contrary to the needs and desires of the community.
Greenwich is a residential area that values its green spaces and parks. These areas are vital for the well-being of our community, providing recreational spaces for children, families, and individuals. They contribute to the overall quality of life, offering a respite from urban development and fostering a sense of community.
The construction of another data centre will not only reduce the available land for green spaces but also contribute to environmental degradation, increased traffic, noise pollution, and potential health hazards. The long-term impact on property values and the overall aesthetic of our neighborhood cannot be overlooked.
Our community strongly believes that instead of adding more industrial buildings, efforts should be directed towards creating more parks and green spaces. These spaces are crucial for maintaining the environmental balance and ensuring a healthy living environment for current and future generations.
I urge you to reconsider the approval of the Lanceley Place Data Centre project. The voices of the residents must be heard and prioritized in the planning and development processes. Preserving and enhancing our green spaces should be a top priority to ensure the well-being of our community.
Thank you for considering our concerns. I look forward to your positive response on this matter.

Once built and operational, my only concern would be that the lighting should be limited at night as the area certainly doesn't need any more light pollution.
My primary concern is that during construction, parking in the area is already very difficult, and heavy construction vehicles will damage the roads - Campbell Pde already in very poor condition.
I'd suggest that during construction there should be incentives to have workers use public transport, and the constructor should operate a bus to and from the site to St Leonards station.
Then on completion, it should be a mandatory part of the project to reconstruct the Campbell and Lanceley roadways.

Size - a 50m high building would stand out in the environment and not in keeping with size of other buildings within the area. I also feel that the construction and ongoing environmental impact should play a part in creating a structure that is more sensitive to the environment. The size of this magnitude would also impact sunlight distribution and change weather patterns which would have a negative impact to the community as a whole. Whilst this sits within a commercially zoned area the impacts to nearby residential properties lifestyle and well being should be considered. There are also no other buildings in the surrounding areas of this size and I find that this submission is too excessive and would change the visual landscape of the area for the worse and would have a poor lasting affect on the environment and residents alike.
Traffic and Noise - Campbell St is currently a very busy thoroughfare with the current road in extremely poor condition that is not maintained at all. Further construction with additional heavy truck and movement is only going to restrict access to this road further and further degraded the road quality that is already in poor condition. I also feel the ongoing increased traffic that this structure will bring in the future would not be sustainable in this site, nor can the local community afford to having increased traffic flow on this street. The movement of trucks in and out of this site also pose a high disruption to residents in terms of increased noise, dust, wellbeing during construction. Future increased traffic will only continue to increase across this area that is already at capacity and construction at this size and magnitude is not able to be incorporated into this environment based on the current infrastructure and community.
Local Community - I feel that this site would be better served by being redeveloped into a green space and open green community environment for others to enjoy rather than creating another 'concrete' jungle environment. We should be creating spaces with trees and grass, not creating further traffic and pollution.
Environmental Risks - this submission refers to diesel fuels storage. To me this poses an extreme environmental risk in terms of fuel leakage into the environment and should not be considered. As this boarders residential properties the health risks that are posed by this should be placed above any requirements/request for this commercial building and no fuel storage etc. should be considered.
A submission this size and magnitude will change the landscape of this area for the worse and is not a step forward in today's environment and future. This submission should be denied and the space instead used for projects that would lower pollution, traffic and create a more calming healthy green space.
