I am a resident of the affected vehicle path for quarry trucks.
While I have no objections to the proposal of expanding the quarry, it is the repurcussions to do with the vehicle movements that I object to.
I am a coal miner and am all for expansion and job creation. However, the volume of truck movements per day is a danger to the local community, residents and children of the area. The number of movements per day is not acceptable for the safety and health and well being of the residents of the travel path.
If the qurried material was moved by other means, such as rail, then there would be no objections to the proposal.
The rail line is right near the quarry and would be a viable option for Daracon, road is the easy option for Daracon and I understand why it is being considered.

I Oppose the Martins Creek Quarry Expansion

Living on Paterson Road, I strongly appose the expansion of Martins Creek Quarry.
I purchased my home in 2015 on Paterson Road the traffic noise is increasing all the time it has double in 5 years already. My front windows shake from some trucks now worst at night some not doing the speed limit.
We'll have to put up a high front fence shortly with double glazed windows just to sit in our lounge room if the Martins Creek project goes ahead and at our cost $ why. Yes we live on a main road and it's our choice but the area is / was rural and already expanded.
I feel that no matter what Residents say or do this will be approved and go ahead anyway.
There are numerous bus stops along the road for school children pick ups. There is also no cycle/ foot paths for safe pedestrian movement. I already feel unsafe when walking on the road.
The roads are not designed to take the load and size of the trucks, and the road is already getting busier with public cars, as the area is / has expanded.
Surely they can put in there own service roads and possibly use the railway line.
I am the owner of my property, and feel the value of my property will go down because of the "death trap" the road will become let alone the noise pollution.

With our property backing onto Tocal Road. We absolutely object to the potential of increased trucks using the road.
We have already experience much more truck traffic than we would like. The trucks thunder along Tocal road, some we have been woken by extremely early in the morning, one morning for example we had several starting 4:30am this was not a nice way to be woken up and I am not keen on this being ongoing thing.
We have recently purchased our property that we love for over 1.1 million. We were not aware of how this truck situation impacts until we moved in. We would NOT want such a proposal to impact our future tranquility of semi rural lifestyle or effect our property price and value.

As a new home owner in Bolwarra Heights I was very surprised at the amount of traffic on Tocal Road already
I object to the Martins Creek Quarry Expansion as it will increase the number of trucks using this road by 280 per day.
This is an unacceptable number of trucks.
We bought here so that we would experience more peace being out of town, I cannot see that 280 trucks a day would be peaceful.
We have invested a lot of money buying this property (over 1.1 mill) and I would not like to see our property value affected, not only for myself and my wife but for our children’s future

This project cannot go ahead, there are two species of endangered wildlife on this property. One species can only be found at the quarry property and Barrington tops. The amount of trucks that will pass through martins creek is not suitable for the roads and people that live on the roads.

I am massively concerned about increased truck movements through already busy residential areas like Bolwarra and East Maiand. This added traffic will be too much for already overloaded intersections and roads that were designed for medium density housing only, not heavy vehicles servicing commercial interests.

I object to the expansion of the Martins Creek Quarry.

The increased truck movements will have a devastating impact on the condition and safety of roads through the town of Paterson which has a high pedestrian activity. These roads were never designed to cope with the volume of truck movements that will be experienced as a result of the expansion of the Martins Creek Quarry.

The vibration and noise from the increased number of trucks trucks will deter tourists from the area which will affect local small business. It will also adversely impact the way of life for residents who live along the proposed routes.

This project is very bad idea, the damage this will do to the already struggling koala population will be irreversible. The local roads are not suitable for the increase traffic that would come from the Quarry. Now is the time to think about the future generations, not just the profits of major companies and the employment of few people at the cost of the environment.

I oppose the expansion of the Martins Creek Quarry using trucks to transport the material. The road network was not designed to handle the increase of truck movements which will impact an already congested roads. There is a lack of safe areas to cross the road which puts pedestrians including children and elderly community members at risk. We were directly impacted until they removed their licence by the early morning trucks using Belmore Road as a runway , the banging of empty trailers in the early hours should be left in the past. Belmore Road is already a car park during peak times, the known increase in health risks caused by excessive dust and diesel particulates should be enough to question the benefits. Precedence has already been set by previous governments when they removed coal haulage by trucks in our local area and mandated that trains be used. I'm not against creating jobs but utilising the current process of moving the ballast by rail should be maintained.

Some of the reasons for my strong opposition
- the terrible deterioration of road condition on an already stressed country road ESPECIALLY Paterson where the road condition is already very poor
- the increase of and danger to pedestrians with the amount of heavy traffic driving through this little historic country town
- the congestion of roads and at the East Maitland lights
- congestions at the Paterson rail crossing
-noise pollution from large vehicles and their brakes

As a local resident with a young family, I am concerned about the increased traffic on our local roads and the environmental impact of the expansion. The large number of trucks proposed to be using the roads I regularly drive to convey my child to school and sporting activities would be heavily impacted, increasing traffic and damage to the road surface. I also regularly use the route to ride my bicycle and I find the idea of having large trucks regularly passing me terrifyingly dangerous.
One of the main draw cards to this area when we were looking for a place to settle, was the large areas of natural wilderness. To lose such a large portion of this is devastating. We love seeing kangaroos, foxes, koalas, frogs, native birds, snakes etc right at our doorstep. The impact of this expansion on the local wildlife populations would be awful.
Please, don't approve this expansion.

I object to this project due to the environmental damage that it will cause to the area. Additionally, the extra traffic will cause immense pressure on the surrounding roads and impact the many families that live in this area.

The increase in truck activity will create a dangerous roadway for our children. The roads were not made to support such a load.
Environmental effects will also be detrimental.
