I strongly object to increasing the emission limit on this project. The claim that the original and approved emission limit was a misprint is utterly ridiculous. To approve this amendment would be to the detriment of the health of the community. I will have no objection to holding the state government personally responsible for any and all of the health complications resulting from these emissions. To approve this submission would be a decision that sacrifices the health of the community. Please put the community first when considering this submission.

The globe is reeling from the ill effects of vehicular pollution. To build a 9 km tunnel in 2020 with only two smoke stacks at either end, no filtration and now to predict quadrupling of emissions blaming it on a typo is a huge mistake which generations to come will suffer from. With thousands of trucks passing through the tunnel everyday besides other vehicles, the pollution will only increase over time.
The tunnel needs at least two more smoke stacks along its length. There needs to be an extensive filtration system which should be future proofed at least for the next 50 years. To wilfully make entire communities prone to not only ailments such as asthma and bronchitis but also cancer due to volatile compounds does not make any careful planning at all. Please do not play with thousands of lives for decades to come. Please introduce more smoke stacks and evidence based more than adequate filtration. OR stop the tunnel now!!!
