I totally object to this proposal by Santos for the following reasons;
The lack of care by Santos to water management, including the huge amount of salt that will result from this plan which will affect ground surfaces and water nearby,
The high possibility of bushfires that could be caused by the process of extracting the gas where open flames are apparent,
The affects on the Pilliga Forest, it's ecology and it's bird and wildlife,
The probability of any damage to the Artesian Basin is enough to refuse this Santos proposal . The effects on agriculture, natural waterways and damage to the diversity of the surrounding land that will be an outcome of these gas wells,
Our reliance on coal and gas when other more environmentally safe resources are so available, eg solar, wind, makes proposals like these totally unnecessary and very undesirable.

It really is time we, as a country, move on from destroying our environment for the sake of adding to corporate profits and showed some understanding of the importance of maintaining a diverse ecologically sustainable land.

As a health professional of 35 years standing I object in the strongest terms possible to the proposed development of CSG drilling and extraction in the Pilliga Forest near Narrabri.
The overwhelming scientific and anecdotal evidence of the damage caused to farmland, water supplies and human and animal health in regions where this industry has been operating are testament to the dangers of expanding operations into the Pilliga and elsewhere.
An example of the lack of transparency around this issue is the description of the by product from CSG mining known as "Produced Water". This is a deceptive term that does not give the casual observer any indication of its actual content, which is, of course, a cocktail of highly toxic and carcinogenic ingredients that are impossible to dispose of in a safe manner.
I strongly urge our Department to reject this development proposal for the sake of our water supplies and the health and wellbeing of our citizens.

I object to this project for the damage it will do the environment. Streams, rivers and water sources will all be impacted by the detrimental process of coal seam gas extraction.

In this day and age with the renewable technology available and the obvious affect climate change is having on our planet you should have no right to destroy our natural land for a commercial profit. CSG and fracking has ruined flint michigans drinking water... don't let that happen here!

CSG has been proven to be an unsafe practice for extracting energy. The cost to our environment is immense.
Why is the government considering allowing major mining companies the opportuntiy to ruin our country, damage our water table and displace our people?
Surely the government should be investing in companies who do not create a threat to our environment and the environment our children's children will inherit.
Say no to fracking. There are many more obvious choices to consider which will not impact on our world. Fracking has been banned in other countries for obvious reasons. Wake up Australia.

Not only is CSG hated by most due to its negative effects on the environment, people and future-It is not being supported by the very people who will be directly affected by it. The government must work for the people who elected them, not the corporations that lobby them.

I am opposed to CSG exploration for its damage to the environment, gas leaks, contamination of underground water supplies, and its negative impact on agriculture, wildlife and native flora.
I feel we should be investing more in renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind power and back-up battery units.

The damage this will cause is irreversible, it is not in the interests of anyone but an industry that is out of governance.
Australias gas is being shipped without customers at below world prices, it is not 'necessary' to produce more.

The Proposal for over 800 CSG wells in the Pilliga State Forest, NSW, will not benefit anyone when the risks and damage to the environment is taken into account.
Any environmental damage would be almost impossible to remediate. The disposal of salt water? No viable solutions. The radioactive and heavy elements brought to surface cannot be returned. Any contamination of the aquifers cannot be neutralised.
And as for the gas that is extracted? Sold to overseas buyers while our Politicians continue to spruik coal. Santos cannot, and will not commit to any and all gas remaining to local consumption, nor can they commit to any significant remediation works at all sites into the future.
I ask that the Application by Santos, and any future applications by Santos or other entities, for CSG Mining in NSW be rejected.

Destroying the Pilliga for dirty, short-term power supply. Old white men and their dumb ideas. I've worked in the region and first hand have seen the dodgy operators and lack of foresight underpinning these operations. Stop living in the past, embrace alternative and renewable energy sources, and catch up to the progress of countries like Germany and those across Scandinavia that harness more solar than a country that's mostly desert!

To whom it may concern
I cannot believe that this government is still contemplating mining for fossil fuels. We need to look to alternative cleaner energy sources in this day and age, not digging up ones which are disastrous for all creatures on this planet. Furthermore, we must stop mining in areas of natural beauty and wrecking forever what precious little there is left of the natural world. This is all about money and who can make it at the detriment of all else, it is pure greed and we have to start saying no and do the right thing. The NSW Government should NOT give permission for this devastating project to go ahead.

We do not want any more gas drilled in Aust. It's been proved they are ruining the environment. They do not support the local communities and we do not benefit from this. We do not use gas.
